Yup. There are those that tweeted calling for revolt and that is what they got. This started out peaceful. This area is now completely destroyed, people's livelihoods destroyed, probably essential services that will decide to move out of the area (food/pharmacy). No telling how many jobs this community will now lose. These services are now gone with a pandemic still occurring.

I feel bad for the people that live there and two videos stood out. One was of an African American man asking white people to leave and that this wasn't their area (news pointed out he was addressing individuals believed to be Antifa). Were plenty of white looters/vandals there. Another was an African American business owner asking African American teens not to spray profanity in front of his store. That it wasn't necessary and that his kids walked there. There response was his store was next.

Then you have another man dead and a person in jail for defending his business. Though I have been robbed twice, once at my home and once at gun point, so I have no sympathy for thieves and vandals.

Guessing this is not what the majority of those residents wanted. Their neighborhood left in ruins while many of the violators go home to intact communities and they get the aftermath.

Minnesota's Governor has stated that about 80% of the violent protesters that have been arrested were from out of state.  It's not their neighborhood they're destroying.

We have a family friend that is Chicago PD. He is having a tough week. He was in Englewood for that Memorial Day incident and has to work the Lakeshore area this weekend.

Unfortunately Chicago is probably in for a violent summer with the combination of this and the COVID lockdowns.

I was Division Mgr of a drug distribution center in Miami when the 1980 Miami riots were race riots that occurred in Miami, Florida, starting on May 18, 1980, following the acquittal of four Dade County Public Safety Department officers in the death of Arthur McDuffie. My division was hit by professionals getting all the good narcotics. No one got hurt because we had all our employees stay home we were allowed back into the DC two days later. It was bad really bad tear gas like a bomb had gone off. We had to have police escorts to go to my location.

We promise all our employees we would reopen but it will take a while. We relocated to Ft Lauderdale paid everyone while out of work. The employees were unbelievable in how hard they worked to get us to reopen and felt so so bad about what had happen. Those employees were the best people to work with in my entire 31 year career.

Riots are scary and very dangerous you feel lost and hopeless to do anything. Sad just really really sad

Here's hoping the country gets through this with as little violence as possible.  Also, looks like I was wrong with my previous comment: https://www.fox9.com/news/jail-records-show-most-arrested-in-minneapolis-riots-have-minnesota-addresses

I'd be curious the number from that neighborhood though. Most of the people in the Chicago stuff will have Illinois addresses, but not in the areas they are hitting. CPD is using the bridges at the moment to try and funnel and keep them out of the business districts.

Makes sense.  It also doesn't take many people to turn something peaceful into a riot.

Ya. I was watching the live feed from a Minneapolis station and they said there was basically three groups. The peaceful group, then a group that showed up and started looting, and the followers from the first group that just decided to fall in with the looting group.

Man, wonder what these people did to Ichy to deserve to have their neighborhoods jacked up by other people. Lol you are honestly face palming me cause I have sympathy for business owners and residents suffering a hardship at the hands of others.

Coming to a city near you. I doubt a lot of this is BLM. ANTIFA loves to stir this stuff up. They could care less about George Floyd.

I am angry as hell about what those officers did. I’ve worked in Public Safety most of my life (fire, law enforcement and EMS) and it makes me sick!

It’s time to put an end to this s***. I like the way they stood back and let Minnesota vent for a couple days. I figured police cars would be destroyed. Not surprised about the police department building either. This s*** is not dying down or tapering off and people are getting hurt. It’s going to take some force and it might be ugly.

It's been going on in Austin. Looting isn't bad (think two stores), but they have burned cars under I35 and had it shut down for a while.

Hope Chauvin spends his life in jail or is executed. No clue if they have the deaf penalty there.

In Atlanta they were rioting and looting, but they all agreed to not destroy the Waffle House.

After a long night of wrecking s***, you still need hashbrowns and coffee.

I took MoPac yesterday to get where I was going just to avoid 35 for that very reason.   Believe TXDOT actually waved certain tolls yesterday to encourage use and keep people away from there.
