AURex 1,984
Stanford, which as won every Directors Cup in sports since the 1994/95 academic season, just announced that it has cut 11 of the Directors Cup sports for the forthcoming season. Hey, if Auburn can take up rowing, field hockey and BEACH VOLLEYBALL, we can get inthe race for the Directors Cup now that the top contenders are out! AlaskanFAN 1,665
Sad for those athletes. Hope they honor the scholarship? You telling me Stanford with all the smart people the have, do and gone there can’t figure out how to fix a budget. Unfortunately this is just the first domino in a lot of athletic budget nightmares and for a LOT of schools. Some lower level schools may end up having to scrap the whole athletic department. (Yes, somewhere it will happen!!)
Cardin Drake 1,805
Well, you have to feel for Stanford. They only have a 27 billion dollar endowment to work with.
