New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton started his second NFL season with a bang, but the former Auburn standout’s performance didn’t prevent the Pittsburgh Steelers from posting a 26-16 victory in the first Monday night game of the 2020 campaign.

Although he wasn’t in New York’s starting lineup, Slayton caught six passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns.

Slayton caught two TD passes in a game for the fourth time in his past 10 outings. Slayton was playing on Monday night in his 15th game and became the 11th player in NFL history to have at least four games with at least two touchdown receptions so soon in his career.

Slayton caught a 41-yard pass from Daniel Jones for the first touchdown of the game with 13:45 left in the first half. He caught a 7-yard touchdown pass with 1:52 to play to go over 100 receiving yards in the game for the third time in his career.

After Slayton’s first touchdown put the Giants in front 10-3, the Steelers scored the next 23 points.

Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger returned to the Steelers' lineup after missing the final 14 games of the 2019 season because of an elbow injury. Roethlisberger completed 21-of-32 passes for 229 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Benny Snell Jr. ran for 113 yards on 19 carries for Pittsburgh.

Its amazing that he has caught 2 TD passes on a game 4 times in his short career. How many TDs total did he have at Auburn, and with Stidham his QB 2 of those years?

It's all in the offense you run it seems.
