University of Florida basketball star Keyontae Johnson remains in critical but stable condition and is "following simple commands," according to a statement Monday from the school.

Johnson was successfully transported to UF Health in Gainesville, Florida, after spending the past two days at Tallahassee Memorial and is undergoing further tests, according to the school.

Before Florida released its statement, Johnson's grandfather, Larry DeJarnett, told USA Today on Monday that Johnson was in a medically induced coma and that doctors hoped to bring him out of it that afternoon.
