I feel like I've seen his name 100 times. All his CB's say Mississippi State but if we just offered than maybe we have a chance. He visited once before so he's at least seen the campus. Would be a nice get. I'd like for us to add two high school kids.

I believe Hargrove is ranked higher but Hunter appears to have more body control and more speed from what I saw on hudl. Im definitely not an expert on talent somebody else would have to comment but those two things stood out to me.

Watch Hunter catch that RB from behind on the first hudl clip and that punt return he had looks pretty nasty too.

Like his power. Looks pretty fast to me. That 1 punt return he had like 8 would be tacklers and he escapes?? WHAT!!!

Good vision, good feet that keep moving, not great speed but good speed with bursts and cuts really good

If your comment about speed is from the first play, take a second look. Hunter is the guy that tackles him coming from way behind.

@augolf1716 Thanks, I need to go add him to my list of elite big RBs. I had forgotten about him which is a shame because he may have been the greatest RB of all time.

He's in my top three and he may have been the best. Damn he could run

Wow Philadelphia, Ms I knew another running back from there who was pretty good

“The Courting of Marcus Dupree” by Willie Morris is one damn good book. That and “Friday Night Lights” by HG Bissinger two of the great “sports” books of all time (although with a lot more than sports to them)

Dupree is a terribly sad story and during the 30 for 30 I gained a lot of respect for Dupree.  The man is not bitter and does not play the victim card.   Just  a man, being a man.

The man is a human highlight reel.

I saw a lot of skills, even a nice catch from a bad pass.

What is he missing besides 12-15 pounds?

seems a little under rated.

I spent some time in Philadelphia when he was playing. Dupree was obviously bought and paid for and was the product of the coddled athlete syndrome. He was literally petted to death and never had to strive for anything. Not to mention, it was common knowledge that he was not the brightest star in the midnight sky. It was sad enough that BSPN did a 30-30 story on him. Had he had the drive that Bo and Herschel had, he might have been called the greatest RB in history. He was a monster. I actually saw him working security at the casino in Philadelphia and he most definitely was not in playing shape

Marcus is a jam up dude. He came in about 7-10 years ago to buy a horse. Ended up buying several. He comes and trail rides with us pretty frequently. Awesome man.

edit- As far as your opinions of him, I do not know how we was then, but he is nothing but class now. If he was indeed like you said, he has definitely grown out of it.

I didn't say he was a bad person, I said he was coddled and petted and after he left Ok, he tried to play at USM but was so out of shape that he quit. He was used to having everything given to him

That was my dad at AUburn. He signed in in ‘70. Went through spring practice and wasn’t used to being a small fish in a big pond. Transferred and washed out from that school as well. He never seemed to be overly interested in football when I was a kid (he’d watch my brother but encouraged me to stay in band and away from injury) He’d watch and enjoy certain players but wasn’t necessarily a fan. He seemed to kind of stay a legend with some of the folks in the community that were around in his heyday but he was huge for a RB then. I think he signed with AU as an LB.

Not sure we are looking at him but, I watched the film. Kid is a 4 star and looks really good. If we are not looking, maybe he is already too far down the path with other option; or maybe there are other things that could affect his coming to AU like grades. I have no idea though.
