According to football scoop, Florida is now working to retain their current LB coach previously thought to be headed to Michigan. There has been some rumor that T-Will might head to Florida. Is Florida’s sudden renewed interest in keeping the old guy perhaps a sign that T-Will might be off the table? This is strictly me trying to put some puzzle pieces together, but who knows could be 2 entirely different puzzles.

Not all are hoping that. If T-Will is compatible with the rest of the hires and Coach Harsin wants him, fine. If not, that's fine too.

If it isn't T-Will, then this team needs a real splash hire. We have a few, but not enough.

I think we have coaches that can coach OLB and/or help a ST/OLB coach.   I want (as if I get a vote) a special teams SPECIALIST!

Nothing turns a game around like S.T. plays.  A blocked Punt,  large KO return,  blocked field goal,  turn over on kick returns,  hell,  even a small 2 point swing from a blocked extra point.     It is called football for a reason.   

Frank Beamers old VT teams  always seemed to have exceptional special teams play.  His S.T. often won the game directly,  and more often caused a momentum swing that lead to a win.

Who are the best special teams  coaches with some LB coaching experience?

Since its taken this long to name a new OSL coach, it wouldn't surprise me if coach Harsin is waiting to hire a coach from the NFL.

Look for T-Will to end up at Tennessee with Steele....but I'd like him with us.....but agree with others that he'd been hired by now...

Yeah, don't understand the delay in hiring the last assistant unless it has to do with NFL.  But having said that, why would you leave the NFL to be a position coach in college.  Honestly, who really knows.  If you ask me, I had rather have some of these 2021 & 2022 recruits commit.  I think we are on an upwards trend and I like it.

Going to Tennessee right now would be career suicide.  TWill can do much better than UT.
