Jacksonville Game Thread 2/25

Recommended Posts

Auburn leads 1-0 in top 3.  In bot 2, Perry singled and Packer drove her home with a 2-out triple.  In top 3, jax has two on with no outs after a walk and an error by Cox, who started at 2B.  Penta pitching, Horton not in the lineup.  Now I see that Penta has retired the side on an unassisted ground out to the catcher (Godwin) and 2 Ks.  Going to bot 3.

Going to top 6 with Auburn up 2-0.  Scored a run in 3d with same script as the one in the 2d.  Sydney Cox singled up the middle, advanced on a groundout by Rivera, scored on a triple by Tyler King.  Godwin whiffed and Dowell popped out.  Dowell with an infield single in the 5th, but no scoring.  Jax pitcher holding us in check except for those two triples.

Now going to top 7, as the Tigers go out 1-2-3 in the 6th.  If Auburn bats in the 7th, we'll have Bryant, Cox, and Rivera.  Penta with 9 Ks through 6.

OK, Game over, 2-0 Auburn.  Pretty closely matched game except for the two triples by Packer and King.  Auburn had 6 hits vs. 4 for Jax.  Penta with 10 strikeouts and 2 walks.  Bilodeau for Jacksonville had 3 Ks.

Offense is not going to get it done at this pace in the SEC.  Lead-off batter hitting .200  Time to sit her and let someone else have a shot.  Wonder if the are using the Pro-Batter System, that CMD, raved about that would be of great benefit.  Is it broken still????

Bilodeau is solid. Florida had to score 1 in the bottom of the 7th off her to eek out a 1-0 win. That being said, our offense still needs to improve.
