Auburn scores 3 more in 7th to win 6-2.  Complete game for Lowe, who gave up 5 hits (2 in the 7th) and 0 walks.  Auburn had 9 hits overall, with Packer going 3 for 3.  Other good news:  Missouri spanked LSU 9-1 in 5 innings.  Or maybe it was 10-1.

Not sure about the strategy by T A&M but the two pitchers used last night would be considered their # 3 and 4 pitchers based on ERA's.  We likely see either Herzog or Poynter today starting today with ERA's of 2.02 and 2.06 respectively.  Herzog is also a good hitter with BA .361 with 8 HR.

Herzog was in the batting lineup last night.  Didn't notice whether she was in the field or DP.  All the free passes issued by Broadus in the first inning contributed mightily to our run total.  Meanwhile, Lowe walks no one.  Only got to a full count about 3 times.  Great to see us getting some hits.  Not sure why the Aggie announcers thought that both Perry and Rivera were freshmen.

Game 2

Nothing for Auburn in top half of 1st, Packer dives in Center for first out. Base hit up middle for Runner on first. Maddie walks next batter. 2 on 1 out.

These Aggie uniforms are ugly and like a throw back to 60s lettering.

Great double play to end inning. Hit to 3rd, step on bag and throw to first. 0-0 after 1.

Tigers up. Alyssa starts it out. Horrible swing for strike out. 49mph change up got her way off balance.

Godwin grounds to 2nd for out 2.

Garcia pop out.

3 quick outs for Maddie.  Great play by Koepke at 3rd to charge and throw out a bunt attempt. She looks comfortable at third.

Got a solid hit from Koepke, then a walk, but nothing else. Scoreless going bottom 3rd

Not looking good in the 3rd.  A walk and bad throw by Koepke on a bunt.  Poor fundamentals.  On a slow rolling bunt, you don't glove it, you bare hand it and treat it like a door knob.  There's no time for a transfer from glove to throwing hand.   Puts runners at 2nd and 3rd,  Then a 2 run single by Herzog puts TAMU up 2-0.

Tamu gets 2 runs on bloop single.   Lead 2-0 end of 3rd.

TAMU gets another run in the bottom of the 4th to make 3-0.  Packer gets on and steals 2nd in the top of the 5th.  Dowell knocks her in to make it 3-1 after 4 and a half.

Just listened to CMD postgame and it truly sounded like the players were being blamed for the loss. That is truly disappointing...

How did he blame them? They simply didn’t hit plus errors cost them 1 run.
maybe they weren’t focused.

Player preparation is the responsibility of the coach. If Dean was insinuating that the players were at fault, I'm done with him.

That coach from the school that will not be named but had the nick-name of Bear said (paraphrasing): "If we do something right, y'all did it. If we did something wrong, I did it."

He said "we" in the press conference after the game Friday in which we won...... Tonight's game was "they" didn't hit, made errors...and we lost.... it is pretty damn simple...

This game was underwhelming. Our team looked like it might be playing the first series of the season.

HAve you noticed that our 2 coaches on the softball and baseball teams are both low key personalities that their strength and past history is of being very good pitching coaches?

But to manage a team of players, develop a team that is strong willed, produce quality hitters, pitch and field well, and be the kind of teams that find a way to win, these coaches are not showing they can do that.

There is just something that is missing on the makeup of these teams they have put together over most of their years here as coach.
