Super glad to see the city and university recognize the former baseball great...recall going to Plainsman Park to watch him and Terry Leech lead us to the World Series....sorry to hear about his illness, but a true nice human being...thoughts and prayers for you and your family...

Indeed a great Auburn man and a genuine, good person. Thanks for the post tigerman.

I knew his Dad Bill well and watched Joe grow up. Sorry to hear this.

Joey Beckwith?  I always knew him as Joe.  Growing up, he lived across the street from my aunt and uncle and when I visited them, we would play together.  There were a ton of kids in that neighborhood.  He was always a good guy and fun to be around.  Glad he is being honored, but very sorry he is in poor health.
