I don't know what is going on with the DL.  Out of all of the position groups, the DL should have been the most prepared for Harsin's tough love system.  That was Rodney Garner's MO.  It seems like there must be something else happening.

Everyone needs to remember, that we'll be playing with one less DL compared to Steele's scheme.  Some of these DL aren't necessarily made for a 3-4.

That said, I was lookiy forward to seeing Hardy play.

Missed Big Kat to UCF

For whatever reason he was not listed on 247's transfers. I'll add him.

Yup only a few transferred to equivalent programs.

I do think some really could have benefited us (DJ or MAR would have been a nice keep)

Felt we never sniffed Matthew Hill's potential

Hardy and Handy have a lot of potential but I have a feeling they might have had some commitment issues that made the staff feel it was time to move on for both parties. Maybe they weren't going to get much playing time? I don't know but it's telling they weren't at A-day.

It's also worth noting we have 4 spots left in the 2021 class for transfers.

DJ would have been a comforting depth guy but he wasn't an impact guy IMO. MAR is just so confusing. Couldn't get reps here but followed Gus to Orlando. Whatever.

Agreed about Hill. I feel like he might have been the most talented to have left. If he played any other position, I'd be less inclined to think so.

Agreed about H&H. Feels like they got processed. @bigbird makes a great point about the scheme change.

Mostly marginal guys otherwise. Certainly many would have left anyway. Everything is still so off and weird right now. I'm just hoping to see this team play tough, get better, and sign a really strong class in '23. That's my "don't panic" list.

I don't think that when they leave they are ever bad apples after coaching change.

New scheme, new philosophy you have to make a decision.

On the bright side, we've been talking for weeks about the need to add a tackle, a running back, and a wide receiver. Now we have more spots to do that. Next man up.

Also, remember that this summer we have the additions of a proven pass rusher in Leota, a highly touted edge rusher in Dylan Brook, a four star def tackle in Marquis Robinson, and a def tackle in Ian Matthews.

I went and asked Keith he said he was last told that we'll fill 3 more spots with transfers.

Agreed for most but for Harsin to mention specifically people missing practices I'm willing to bet someone among the transfers wasn't willing to do what was expected of them.

Biggest problem with the NCAA's setup is that we can only add 25 new players a year (including transfers) with very few exceptions. Theoretically 40 players could leave and we'd still be limited to 25 additions.

I feel like there has to be changes in this.  Transfers shouldn't count against the 25 like recruits, they need to be separate.  Maybe it is a one for one, you get a transfer spot if one leaves.  IDK.

No expert here, but I thought we signed 22 and had 3 spots left. Don't transfers count for those spots? And if we add three, we are limited to 25 next with no carry over spots?

Lost a lot of 4* in that list and several left early for Pros.  Not likely to replace them with 4*s if that really means anything.

That is a long and sad list.

Not really . Sure a few hurt worse than others , but it’s all common when new schemes come to town . Now on the other hand we only have 7 players left LOL
