Before Auburn’s marquee nonconference trip to Penn State this fall, the Tigers will open the 2021 season with back-to-back games at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Now, with 100 days until the start of the season, the kickoff times and television channels for those two games are set, the SEC announced Thursday afternoon.

Auburn will open its 2021 campaign, officially kicking off the Bryan Harsin era on the Plains, on Sept. 4 at home against Akron. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+/SEC Network+.

The following week, Auburn will host Alabama State on Sept. 11. That game will start at 11 a.m. and air on SEC Network.

That Alabama State will be steamy.  That Akron ticket might be the hottest creampuff ticket in Auburn in awhile.  Gonna be a lot of empty seats in the second half of that Alabama State game.

I'll be the first to say it, let's go Clemson and Miami! :)

Miami may be ready to drop the sport after that game. Saban usually embarrasses big name teams that aren't that good currently. Clemson/Georgia should be interesting.

I think the LSU vs UCLA is a very important game for Chip Kelley. He really needs to win that game to announce his arrival as a difference maker in college football again. He has lost a bunch of these prove it games. That could be an eye opener should he win.

UL Monroe vs. UK could be interesting too.  Wonder what Tater Tot will do?  Will Gatewood start for UK?

Imagine if Terry was still their HC.

We gotta get LA Monroe on the schedule.

Why?  So they can beat us?  Ha!  Billy has already burned us once.

Not really. We said no to him. Unless you're talking about something else.

I don’t even remember who said what to what anymore.  I still don’t want Auburn to lose to ULM.  The Bammers would enjoy that too much after the hell we gave them.  Let’s keep our loses to the Penn States of the world.

I guess we should just “dodge” all those teams Bammers might enjoy that we lose to (Oh, never mind. That’s everyone).

It’s good to have a high self worth and ask for what you think you deserve.  I have no problem with someone throwing out a big number especially considering what the other guy was getting.  Worst that can happen is they say yes and you have to get paid.

Oh, I'm not debating any of that. Only pointing out that he didn't burn us.

Good lord that Clemson/UGA game is going to be incredible. It’s a shame it’s not a home and home.

That's what I hate in general about the neutral site games. They are usually some of the best non-conference matchups of the entire season and are always in NFL stadiums.

Agreed. Not a fan. To be fair, I believe this game was thrown together last minute a couple of years ago. Congrats to Charlotte for finally getting a competitive football game for a change.

It would certainly make the game extremely interesting. If Akron wasn’t the first game of the season and instead the 10th or 11th, it wouldn’t pain me to not watch.

However, if we were playing Terry, I would be glued to every moment of the game.

Terry was the first coach of my childhood.  93 was the first year I paid attention to every game and that 93 iron bowl was an all timer.  Similar to Chizik and Gus, he was able to maximize what he had to make a special moment in time.  After the tie against Georgia and the loss to Bama to end 94 things never were the same.  95-97 had their moments but never quite reached their potential.  When Craig left after the 97 season the wheels fell off.  I don’t know what to believe about the rumors you hear but always thought highly of Terry.  Probably was time for him to go similar to Gus but was surprised he never landed a bigger name job.
