It's not a coincidence. And no one knows what has been communicated. This has not been explained by others and people are overreacting

What has been communicated by the player himself is that Auburn just only now offered and that he had wished that they had done it much earlier. As per the player himself, it's probably just too late. Georgia offered him on June 21st and Tennessee offered him on February 2nd.

The person you initially responded to asked why we were offering him so late. You made some completely false point about this having to do with "Official" offers only just now going out. You're being flippant and dying on a hill that is not based in what the truth actually is. Teams can extend "Unofficial" offers and accept commitments well before the August "Official" date (otherwise how did Bradyn Joiner literally commit to us on January 1st, 2022?).

Nobody is overreacting to anything. Ricky Gibson is supposed to announce a Top 3 today. We might not even make it. Even if we do "sneak in", he is trending to Georgia and has been for a while now.

Do see anything other than a link to an article in this thread?. He tweeted out his offer the same day as the other offers from Alabama, FsU, Ole Miss, others. That article announced an official offer to him. This is from the article...

Efforts to reach Gibson have thus far been unsuccessful by Auburn Live.

But we do know Auburn attended a Hewitt-Trussville spring practice this year. And, Floyd said Gibson visited the Tigers in June

I think that’s been the case all along. We’ll need immediate help in that area.

Get those plug in guys quickly. Still a concern about the future foundation, but I feel like there are some coachable prospects available.

Unfortunately very few JUCO OL are plug and play either. We better hope we step up and bring home some solid guys from the portal.

Related to the OL, anyone know what’s going on with Brad Bedell. He played OL in the NFL. You would think he would have at lease some impact on recruiting but he’s transparent there. Does he not have any recruiting responsibilities?

We need 3-4 HS/Juco O-line and 2-3 Portal. That depends on returning players. It appears that we potentially will have 3 starters returning next year. Zierer, Stutts, and Jones look like the starters so far. All 3 will have eligibility to come back. Whether they will is the big question. If they don't we might even need more help in O-Line for next year. What is scary is I am not seeing any young guys like Smith, Langlo, Harris as 2nd or 3rd line OT's.  That was based on Part 1 Observations which would not include young guys so I am interested to see when whole team comes together what will look like our 1st and 2nd O-line.  Other good news on O-Line is Tate Johnson seems to be coming on.  If all three Zierer Stutts, Jones, come back and Johnson continues to improve we could have 4 of the 5 starters for next years O-Line then need one of the new guys to step up to have a staring O-Line but that would leave us with almost no depth and what is sad that is the best case as it is possible none of the three comeback.

KZ is done. His covid year was a RS.  The only way he can come back is if he RS this year.

Correct. If it was 1-2 while we took 4 HS OL it would make sense.

We need to look at the portal for 3 starting OL while we have a foundation of young guys. We'll only have like 9 scholly OL after this year, so we have room to take a ton of kids

I wonder why the moved Jeremiah Wright back to DT.. Seemed like a good candidate for our OL... Since the DL is so much deeper, perhaps Harsin needs to pull a Tubs and switch some DL to OL...

Before he got hurt he was our number one NG. They probably decided it is his best position and while we are very good in D-Line depth could help a lot. A couple of fresh D-Line last year and we probably beat bama and maybe Miss State as D-Line ran out of gas last year against Miss State after dominating in 1st half.

Exactly. The Transfer Portal is the only place you'll find immediate impact OL, but that requires beating out everyone else in the country too. JUCO isn't safe or immediate at all - you'd be surprised how many of those guys are total flops, even among the "elite rated" JUCO kids.

Probably came down to experience.  Wright has some game snaps at DL, none at OL. Our o line is pretty deep as well. Not the most talented but a lot of experience.
