UNC is looking strong tonight.  They've got the top individual score currently in every event they've performed. Gobourne currently has best floor score.

Supposedly UNC is great on floor and Auburn struggles in Vault last year.  Hope we pull it out.

Wow! 9.95 for Drew Watson on vault for Auburn.  Exceptional.

Auburn finishes vault with 49.350 which will seal 1st place at 196.30!  Excellent first meet score.   Woo hoo! Go ladies!

Yep, we won every rotation after that.  Suni got 9.775 on bars but had .2 just for touching the bar.  That would have been 9.975 otherwise

For perspective.  Defending champ Michigan started the season with 3rd highest score ever for an open, 197.70. They scored 198.25 in final meet last year to win it.   So that's the bar.

Nice win against some tough competition.

UNC’s Freshman Lali Dekanoidze won the all around. She is a 5-star Freshman and Junior Olympic National Champion.

Next week at Arkansas. That’s a tough opponent.

Will be a sellout.  They changed arenas to sell more tickets.

UNC really had some standouts but yes Lali was special.

Suni only competed in 2 events.  This will probably be norm throughout regular season to prep her for all around in NCAAs

Coming in Vault was thought to be a weakness but we got some good freshman it seems that specialize in vault.  We have typically not done poorly but also not scored higher on floor overall.  We did win that event tonight.

Read somewhere that the 196.30 is the 3rd highest opening meet score in Auburn history.  Graba takes the same approach as Pearl early in putting different rotations together on each apparatus until he finds a good mix.  This will be the most exciting year in college gymnastics history with all the Olympians in college now.

Is not Suni's best event the bars? So, will that not be one of her events she continues to stay in?

Or are they weaning her in, as a freshmen and may have missed a lot of training while she was out in CA?
