I had no idea that all of that stuff was all so centrally located in and adjacent to downtown. (Except McWane Center- crazy to think that's among the oldest of the bunch. Go Birmingham!)

Um, yeah. Cheap tickets, no airfare, park the car and don't get back in it for the weekend, have some good meals, drink some good beers... seems kinda dope IYAM.

This. All. Day. Long.

(ends response to Loof)

I know the Ham doesn’t sound too seshy,  but Shrevepork?

Uh no.

I live close to Shreveport. The stadium sucks. It’s location isn’t good. If you don’t gamble, not much else to do other than maybe Bass Pro or Barksdale AFB. Well, to be clear the late Larry Flynt does have an establishment there too. But I digress…

I've been to Shreveport once and it was the only time I didn't enjoy being in Louisiana.

I think Shreveport needs to be it’s own state. It’s kinda like Texas didn’t want it and neither did Louisiana. We just kinda got stuck with it. Of course, all of us Yankees north of I-10 in LA are generally disowned by the majority of the population in the state, so I can’t really say say anything.

I think there’s going to be quite a few players opt out of the bowl game.  McCreary being the most notable so far.

Who would miss a chance for Birmingham Bowl swag and hardware?

I went to the bowl game out there in ‘96. Got some free jambalaya from the fair across the street. Surrounded by the spirits and casinos, too, but I was 3 months shy of my 21st birthday (sigh).

If anything, I wouldn't mind seeing UAB's new stadium. I will have to do a little homework on the area's logistics. Curious to know the entertainment being offered to the teams. Back in the day, I think it used to be Vulcan and the Civil Rights Museum.

I will not miss the Legion Field experience. I can only imagine what that is costing the city/county for maintenance.

Anyone know AU bowl practice schedule? Haven’t been able to find it.

Wondering the same thing. The extra practices may be the most important part of this bowl season for us. 😅

My wife and I went to the first game at the new stadium. It is very nice. I am proud of what they have done to that area with Uptown, Top Golf, and upgrade to the Civic Center. Here is a picture I took of the field at the UAB vs Liberty game.

I hope that we have great weather for the game and a sell out full of Auburn fans. I don’t think it has been sold out yet.

I know this is not the Bowl game most wanted to be in but after what was a much better initial recruiting class than I expected I am going to put on my Orange and Blue glasses and tell you some reasons to like it.

1. Playing in a bowl allows extra practices and gives younger players a chance to move up.

2. With Hamm,, Manning, and Brahm's out we get to see some of the players we will need for next year.

3. Will DDavis be given any reps - As an early signee last year and a year learning the system I hope he is given some reps.

4. We are playing a solid team in Houston so we will have an idea of what to expect from this team next year.

I realize the Portal could and probably should bring in some new starters for next year but Hope to see a few players on the O-line get some PT.

I want to see if Zierer can be our starting  Left Offensive Tackle, who will start at Center with Brahms out, Will Coffee be starting RT or will we get to see Colby Smith, who will start at RG.  Basically we get a chance to see how many players we have on O-Line who might actually have a chance to be starters.

This year our O-line was not bad but they were also not stellar with three starters out two gone for sure we get the opportunity to see some other players. I know Harsin is the type of coach who wants to win but will he also want to get to see as many players as possible to see how they look against another team. How do we replace McCreary and McClain in this game without them can these D still be great. Will D-line play like they did against Bama.

For those of you who are in Alabama please make this a sold out game. We are playing in a stadium in Alabama so lets make this a home game atmosphere. I wish I could be there.

Can't remember exactly, they reported back for a few days for workouts. Had a few practices.

Sunday will be last day, then they drive to Bham and report the 23rd. Can someone remind me, does the team always arrive separately to bowl games?

Wish I could go to the game. Hope we can pull it out but I doubt it.

Really hope DD takes snaps. Could help evaluate him for next year. I want something to look forward to for 22.

As someone who spent the majority of my life in the Birmingham area let me just say that is the butt ugliest trophy.

I still don't give a damn about the game, but I'm all in for winning the assless chaps trophy.
