We also have to do an immensely better job of staying with guys and not trying to help too much on defense. Ole Miss routinely got easy 3 point looks in the first half because of that and UGA did as well.
Grady is arguably the best sniper in the conference, Tyty is shooting 40%, Mintz has become a consistent shooter since SEC play started, and they got a couple other guys at 30ish%.
I would probably contend Tyty is the best all around guard in conference, and probably one of the 2-3 best at operating off the dribble. Between the pressure he can put on the rim and Tshiebwe constantly lurking, I could see this being a game where multiple bigs are in foul trouble

They have some players for sure. It is UK. Grady is the only one who is a volume guy. Only guy averaging more than 2 makes from three per game because they just don’t shoot that many.

Smith and Flan (all 3s and 4s) will have to help out in the big fella if Kessler leaves him to get a block. He will test our front line for sure.

The thing about UK is their a bit inconsistent. Guards can be great but also very average at times. Will be on our guys to bring the determination to win this one.

What started as something really good has turned really bad. Auburn administration had enough time to come up with a better solution and it's amazing that someone didn't get trampled and seriously injured. Now all of these tents are pointless.

Yikes!!! I hope no one gets hurt.  Well, it didn’t make a whole lot of sense to camp out all night in the freezing cold, although I love the enthusiasm of the students. It makes even less sense to stand in line all night in the freezing cold. At least in tents they could stay warmer. 😬 Kids! Prayers for safety.

They’re also disallowed from leaving the barricades. If they do, Aub police will escort them to back of the line (per my friends in the line). Admin clearly did not develop a real plan, even though they were aware for days this was occurring

Hope everyone used the bathroom before getting in line, my walnut bladder wouldn’t allow it. Before A Day one year, we did some pregaming and the line to get in the stadium was massive, so I told my group “peace out, I’ll meet you back at the tailgate spot after the game”, and hopped out of line and went into one of the public student buildings to take a squeege. Miraculously, I picked a random tunnel (phone service was trash) to go into the stadium and my wife was standing up looking for me and I hooked back up with them.

Obligatory:

Is this the biggest regular season game in AU basketball history? I can’t think of a bigger one.

We played UNLV in 1987 when I was there. We had beat them the previous year in our unexpected run to the Elite 8. They were ranked #3 I think and we were about 15-20. The Coliseum was as hyped as it about ever got. I remember one of their guards made a last a shot in warm ups from about 30 feet and I thought “Ruh Roh”. They ran our asses out and ended up a Final Four team. I remember thinking that was a big game and we had a run of really good teams and tournament appearances in that stretch….but things are different now. Hope we are ready for this one tomorrow….

It's ridiculous that they didn't do anything. From the one thread on twitter I've seen from some of my followers, some people have went home but a lot of stuck it out and are absolutely freezing. Admin making them line up without their tents is so messed up. They should have waited until about 5 am before the lining up started. I'm really hoping they open the arena super early to let them in and warm up.

Could these students have been going to gymnastics? It said the arena was full for gymnastics tonight.

This was after the gymnastics. Happened around 9:30 PM and Gym meet was over before that.

i love the fact we get to play some super good teams on an equal footing instead of always being behind the eight ball so to speak. as an aside has anyone ever thought ol kd might make it in horror movies with those faces he makes when he scores in case basketball does not work out for him? it fascinates me to watch him and even what he does with his tongue. he looks like he is out for blood and i love it. i also want to say i like jawjas coach. the announcers said kd was a class short of transferring and he either paid for the class or  got jawja to do so.this impressed me. it also tells me how much they think of kd as well.

I was at that game. We certainly were not ready. Were you in the arena when the UNLV cheerleaders walked in?

I was there but don’t recall that part of it. My main memory is of the a** whipping we received and realizing we weren’t ready for prime time

I would love to hear if anyone else thought this at the time.

I was a student and was at the game really early, with really good seats. There was a normal amount of noise in the coliseum considering the game was still a long time off. The UNLV cheerleaders walked from the concourse down the steps to the court. The coliseum crowd went silent. Dead silent.

Auburn girls are beautiful, but neither I nor hardly anyone else present had ever seen women like that. I swear they must have been Vegas showgirls. Even the women in the coliseum were speechless.

I admit that I was a somewhat sheltered 19-year-old kid, but I'm telling you the whole coliseum went silent. Those women were not ordinary.

Can anyone else back me up on this???
