Biden-Harris outrageously join the ‘war on democracy’

Whatever President Joe Biden and Veep Kamala Harris are trying to do with their war on democracy, it’s disgraceful.

“War on democracy” is, after all, the going term for baselessly claiming US elections will lack legitimacy (at least, if your side loses).

How pathetic: Most of the Democratic Party has joined the last Republican president in claiming US elections lack legitimacy. It’s as if someone drugged most of America’s political class.

What in God’s name do Biden & Harris think they’re doing by telling Trump to hold their beers?

Inflation is the cruelest and most regressive tax on the poor and middle class. The figures are clear. In December the Consumer Price Index rose 7% from the year before, the fastest rate since June of 1982. The rate accelerated to 9.1% over the past three months and real median wages are down $11.58 since Biden took office.

COVID is now lashing our country. We all recall when Biden promised to “shut down the virus” and said, referring to Donald Trump, that anyone “who is responsible for 220,000 deaths … should not be president.” Despite having inherited safe and effective vaccines, more Americans have died since Biden took office than before. Businesses and schools are being closed and the damage to our society and country is accelerating.

The administration has horridly managed the success it was given, delayed ordering testing kits and mandated cloth masks when it turned out they are less effective. Administration officials have derided anyone questioning its strategy as anti-vaxxers or worse. They have never given the American people any reason to believe that there is a coherent strategy or that Biden will resign having presided over more deaths than President Trump, whom Biden said should have resigned.

It appears you completely missed the point:

Even though the Democrats won the last election, they are singing the same tune as Trump did prior to the next.  Is this a built in *I told you so* moment it the midterms don’t turn out the way the Democrats want.  It sure does look that way.

What would you call disputing a legally valid election for no reason other than 'Dear Leader" tells you to?

A war on a fair election = a war on democracy, by definition.

What BS.  (Although an excellent example of "projection".)

There is nothing Democrats have proposed about election reform that would threaten the legitimacy of elections. Whereas Republican MAGAs cannot point out a single election fraud from the last election large enough to sway it.

BS

No losing Democrat has falsely claimed he was cheated out of the last election and which he/she actually won (and continues to do so).

As for the future, time will tell.

Never fear Salty.  If you really think we'd have been better off had Trump won, you'll get another chance to vote for him in '24.

Hillary Clinton has, for the last four years, blamed the loss on Russia (essentially saying she was cheated out to the Presidency)

Stacy Abrams has spent the last four year saying she was the rightful governor of Georgia.  She even gave a speech at the DNC espousing the same.  In the governors race is Virginia the out going Governor even agreed she had been cheated out of the victory.

Exactly, it was a war on democracy.  Democracy being defined as *your side didn’t win*.  That’s the point.

I'm confused.  Which side has been conducting a war on democracy as of the 2020 election?  Trump or the Democrats?

Which side is making baseless claims that their candidate was cheated in the 2020 election?

This is simply not true and you know it.  Stop lying.

Stacy Abrams has spent the last four year saying she was the rightful governor of Georgia.

Another lie.  If you are going to make such claims, back them up with evidence.

Not True.

Produce quotes if you really think otherwise.  (Make sure you cover "four years".)

Baseless hyperbole is no way to have a reasonable debate.

Which side is "overhauling our voting rights"

How about listing all of the proposed rules that constitute an "overhaul" in your opinion.

Because Republican lawmakers are stacking the deck for future elections - such as taking governing control from non-partisan officials to (their) partisan politicians.

They are trying to tweek the system so that their next attempt to hijack the election will have a better chance to succeed.  There's absolutely no other justification for them to do this other than to create an unfair advantage for themselves as the majority party.
