Baseball vs Yale series

Recommended Posts

Won't be able to do play-by-play the entire game since I'll be watching the Gym meet in 30 minutes but Jordan Armstrong is getting his first start.

Starts off the 1st with 2 straight strikeouts on 7 straight strikes. Hits the next batter but then strikes out the 3rd batter on 3 pitches. He threw 12 pitches and 11 of them were strikes. Amazing start to the game!

Rambusch grounds out to 3rd but does a great job battling with 2 strikes in an 8 pitch AB.

Moore doubles down the RF line.

Hopefully they fix these technical issues soon. No sound, and the camera angle is less than ideal.

And DiChiara with a 2 run bomb to straight center field.

2-0 Auburn

Dyal strikes out looking. Larue with a walk after getting behind 0-2, great eye to draw the walk.

Finally got sound back and a better camera angle, YAY!

Ware pops up to end the 1st.

2-0 Auburn

Good crowd according to Brad Law & Paul Ellen. Plan on making it over myself tomorrow.

Mentioned it wasn't as big as Wednesday nights crowd but considering we have a gym meet in Auburn Arena, I get it.

Going to record the Gym meet and watch it after this game is over, so as long as we don't spoil it in here, I'll be good.

Back to back ground outs and Armstrong strikes out the 3rd batter. 4 strikeouts so far!

2-0 Auburn

Foster, Howell, and Hall up. Hopefully their bats wake up.

Foster grounds out to 2B.

Howell is first pitch swinging and gets a single back where it came from. Howell steals second!

Hall strikes out looking, ump seems to have a high strike zone. 2 of those strikes were letter high.

Rambusch singles and Howell comes around to score!!!

3-0 Auburn!

Moore flies out to CF a few feet away from the warning track for out 3.

Armstrong with his 5th strikeout on 3 straight strikes. Groundout to 1b for out 2. Falls behind 2-0 to the next batter but comes back to strike him out on 3 strikes in a row. 6 strikeouts through 3 innings and only 33 pitches.

3-0 Auburn!

DiChiara, Dyal, Larue up to bat.

DiChiara's blistering hot start to the season continues with a single to LF off the wall. Looks like he thought it was gonna bounce off the wall hard but it just stayed in the dirt, could have gotten to second if he wouldn't have stopped at 1st.

Dyal with a first pitch single. Runners on 1st and 2nd. Pitching mound visit and Yale has guys warming up.

Larue flies out to RF. Runners hold. Ware flies out to LF on a nice running catch to the warning track. Close to getting a double off the monster.

Foster singles up the middle and DiChiara comes around to score! Dyal advances to third.

4-0 Auburn!

Howell singles to CF and Dyal comes around to score! That's 3 straight hits for Howell after a really rough start to the season. Runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.

5-0 Auburn!

Hall walks to load the bases and the Yale pitcher is at 57 pitches through 2.2 innings. Think his night will be done after this inning if he can even get another out.

Rambush flies out to CF to end the inning. 5-0 Auburn going to the 4th.

Armstrong mowing them down. Starts the 4th with a strikeout on 4 pitches. Fly out to CF for out 2, that was the first ball to reach the outfield. Another strikeout, his 8th of the night! We got us a good one, folks!

He's only thrown 48 pitches through 4 innings! Moore, DiChiara, and Dyal are due up for the Tigers. Great opportunity to get some more runs up with the heart of the lineup.

No change in the pitcher for Yale which is really surprising.

Moore strikes out swinging on a checked swing.

3 straight balls to DiChiara, he swings on a 3-0 count and reaches 2nd on an error. 4 guys around the ball and no one catches it.

Dyal flies out to the LF who committed the error on the previous play. Larue singles up the middle and DiChiara comes around to score again (that's 3 runs for the big boy).

6-0 Auburn! A lot of confidence being shown for the starting Yale pitcher as he stays in the game. Ware grounds out to end the inning.

Edit: Yale pitcher at 75 pitches.

Another 3 pitch strikeout to start the inning. A 1 pitch ground out for out 2.

No-no is broken up with an 0-2 single. Back to back singles. Yale is starting to be aggressive so he might need to start throwing a bit more out of the zone to make them pay. Another first pitch single. It was a slow roller to 1st and the runner just beats Armstrong to the bag. Bases loaded with 2 outs.

Auburn starts warming up some pitchers and we have a mound visit.

Great job working out of trouble as Armstrong strikes out his 10th batter! Armstrong is the first Tiger pitcher to strike out 10 batters since Tanner Burns!

Edit: Foster, Howell, and Hall are up for Auburn and Yale has a new pitcher in the game.

Nice play by the 1b and Foster is out. Howell flies out to RF on the first pitch. Hall strikes out again to end the inning. First 1-2-3 inning for Yale.

6-0 Auburn going to the 6th.

Armstrong stays in the game for the 6th inning. Lead off single for Yale. Wild pitch and Yale runner advances to 2nd. Another strikeout for Armstrong and that's his career-high with 11!

That will also be the end of Armstrong's night. We'll trade one Armstrong for another one as John Armstrong comes in for relief.

John Armstrong picks up right where Jordan left off. Strikes out the last 2 batters to get out of the small jam and keeps Jordan Armstrong's shut out night intact.

Rambusch, Moore, and DiChiara due up for Auburn. And the announcers went right back to talking about Gymnastics and spoiled a score for me. 😠:angryfire:

Rambusch with a chopper to 2B for out 1. Moore with an infield single.

DiChaira grounds out to 3B but Moore does advance to 2nd. Dyal intentionally walked.

LaRue with a strike out to end the inning, he looked like he was trying to duck out of the way of a high pitch around the head but he went around with the bat.

6-0 Auburn going to the 7th.

Allsup in to pitch for Auburn.

Ground out on the 1st pitch. First walk of the game on a 3-2 pitch. Long mound visit after Allsup falls behind 3-1 to the next batter.

Another 3-2 walk. Follows up that with a wild pitch and both runners advance. Another 3-2 count but this time he's able to strike out the batter. Rough inning with control but he's able to work himself out of the jam with another strikeout. That's 15 so far for Auburn.

6-0 Auburn

Ware hits it to CF and looks like the CF has it for a moment before he drops it. Umpires are reviewing it, Ware went to 3rd on the drop.

Official call in with an error and Ware on 3rd. Foster strikes out on 3 pitches.

Howell crushes on over the monster. Umpires are going to review this one as well to see if it is fair or foul.
