Miami up next

They won't out-rebound us.  We just need to be efficient inside and force them to take tough outside shots.  And protect the ball please.  Miami does not turn it over much at all.

If Jaylin can't go on Sunday I'd much rather face the team that plays 4 guards with an 8 man rotation and only 2 bigs out of those 8. If our guards continue to move the ball like they did today, we should win.

I haven’t seen them play.
On paper, to me, they look like TA&M.  😮

4 guards, shoot a lot of 3s, handle the ball well, etc.

If we move the ball well, let Kess and Jabari do their thing, and play tenacious D, we SHOULD be fine.
But, yes, this game makes me nervous.

On TV today, A&M is who they remind me of...last week's version...not the version from 5 weeks ago.

Disciplined on offense and they force turnovers. They will not beat themselves.

Lunardi: I am all over the Miami guards against Auburn. We've seen this movie all the way back to Jim Larranaga and George Mason. Coach L's veteran guards will control the ball, control the game and take advantage of every Auburn turnover. Throw in some timely shot-making and this will be one of those big seed-line upsets that really isn't.

As I said in another thread, our guards are going to have to play really disciplined defense to guard those two and stay out of foul trouble.

#3 Charlie Moore, Point Guard, looks really seasoned like Jared Harper was. We'll need Jasper to stay out of foul trouble as I can't see Green staying in front of that guy.

Wong, their Shooting Guard at 6'3" and leading scorer will give KD issues shooting over him.

They play really good defense, much like A&M last week. TWELVE steals.

They don't turn the ball over. Only THREE turnovers. Incredible.

They get to the FT line a lot...and they shoot it well. 19-25.

Miami only made 1-14 on 3's. For them to outlast anyone in this tournament shooting that poorly from the arc says a ton. That means if they get a few more to fall on us, we're in trouble.

USC hit nine 3's and still lost.

This one should come down to the nub.

They are all good teams at this point. Bring our A game and we'll be fine. Bring something else and it could get ugly.  Miami will adopt A&M's game plan for us, and it will be interesting to see if Coach BP has any effective counters...

Run the game through the post and it should be a win.

Yup. They are going to body us up and go for steals. KD's play is often our barometer. When he's able to get to the paint and draw fouls, we usually win. When he's forced to the baseline and getting trapped and is cold on 3's, very difficult to beat good teams. That's why Bruce ran a designed play for him 1st play v JSU. Would not be surprised to see the same 1st play today.

I always surprised they don't wear mouthpieces. What with all the elbows, falls, collisions, etc.

And helmets.

And shoulder pads.

And allow tackling.

Did I just invent a new sport?!
