Anybody hear the reason for disallowing the bat?  Did the sticker fall off?

That's what I've read. Umps saw no sticker and Butch claimed it fell off. I didn't know about the sticker system, but there's gotta be a better way of doing this. Seems very foreseeable that they could fall off

Yes definitely with dirt around and going thru heat cold cycles. And I suspect that umpire only saw it because the hitter dropped it right at his feet and he picked it up. Most of the hitters tossed the bat a little further away so the ump wasn't inclined to "help" the bat boy. Glad we pulled that out with some great 9/10 inning pitching. Loved it.

Softball ended just in time for the baseball game.

Bright on the mound going for the series win!

Rambusch strikes out to lead off the game. Howell doubles!!

DiChiara strikes out. Hill singles and Howell scores!

Moore singles and Hill goes to second.

Dyal reaches on an error and Hill comes around to score!

Wild pitch advances the runner but LaRue flies out.

2-0 Auburn B1st

A&M gets a leadoff single but Bright comes back and gets a fly out, strikeout, and flyout.

Foster, Bello, Rambusch coming up for Auburn.

Shallow fly to center and neither fielder can catch it. DOUBLE FOR RAMBUSCH!

Howell with a chopper to 3rd and Rambusch is able to move to 3rd on the groundout.

DiChiara with another strikeout. So weird seeing him with 2 strikeouts in a game and on back-to-back at bats.

Another strikeout this time from Hill.

4-0 Auburn B2nd

Pop up, and a strikeout for Bright. Pitch got away from LaRue but he was able to throw to 1st in time. Lineout and a quick 1-2-3 inning for Bright in 7 pitches.

Moore, Dyal, LaRue up to bat.

4-0 T3rd.

Auburn broadcast talking about the sticker gate for Land's bat last night. Said that the players watched the game back on SEC Network and during his at bat you can see the sticker that it was approved and then sometime between the hit and the umps looking at the bat the sticker came off. If the stickers come off that easily, there needs to be a better system.

Moore flies out to LF.

Dyal strikes out on a 3-2 count. 5 strikeouts already for Auburn batters.

LaRue with a 1 pitch groundout. Easy inning for A&M as well.

4-0 Auburn B3rd

1 pitch groundout. 7 pitches for the last 4 outs for Bright.

3-2 count and Bright gets his 3rd strikeout! 3-2 walk, Bright not liking this umps strike zone, felt like he got squeezed twice in that at bat.

Hits batter and small bit of a trouble with 2 outs. Auburn wants a review, batter didn't have any type of reaction to being hit. Will update the post.

Edit: Call reversed. Ball hit the knob of the bat. That's the second review Auburn has had to ask for and receive a review. Both times the calls were overturned.

Edit 2: Next pitch and it's a ground out to end the inning.

Foster, Bello, Rambusch up.

4-0 Auburn T4th

Foster with a strikeout.

Sliding catch by the CF to get Bello out.

Another strikeout for Rambusch. That's 7 strikeouts for the Tigers.

4-0 Auburn B4th

Dang! 1 pitch 1 double for A&M.

Error on Foster. It was a long run for him and Bello probably should have called him off and didn't and it bounces off Foster's glove. Runners on corner with 0 outs.

Bright gets his 4th strikeout. Sets up the opportunity to get out of this inning with a double play.

WOW! Foster makes up for the error with a diving catch! Saves a hit and a run. Will definitely update this post with the video when it gets posted on twitter.

STRIKE OUT LOOKING!!! Great pitching from Bright and great job by Foster to shake off the error.

Howell, DiChiara, Hill up for Auburn.

4-0 T5th

We're not making this pitcher work at all anymore.

1 pitch fly out for Howell.

1 pitch ground out for DiChiara. 3-2 fly out for Hill. 3 straight 1-2-3 innings for A&M pitcher.

4-0 Auburn B5th

Double off the top of the wall. Just missed a homer.

Our hitters can't do anything and A&M still hitting the ball hard. Hopefully Bright can get out of this.

Bright with his 6th strikeout! Great throw and Bright picks off the runner! Going to review, though. Auburn broadcast saying it's very close. Might be too hard to overturn it. Will update this post.

Edit: Announcers thinking Moore might not have tagged the batter.

Not sure how that's overturned with the 2 views we have,  but we play on

Edit: the confusing overturn of the pick off costs us a run.

Still 4-1 Auburn

Deep fly out to RF and runner tags and advances to 3rd.

Moore with a nice backhand but hesitates with the throw to first. Runner is called safe, 1st base ump took forever on the call. Call will be reviewed as well. Auburn broadcast team thinks it'll be upheld.

Yup, call is upheld.

4-1 Auburn

Bright falls behind 2-0 and Butch comes out to talk to him. Sheehan starts warming up for Auburn. Walks him on 5 pitches. Tying run up to the plate for A&M.

Bright's missing but not by much. Groundout to 3rd. Nice comeback to get out of the inning after some disappointing reviews.

Moore, Dyal, LaRue up for Auburn.

4-1 Auburn T6th Need our bats to wake up again.

Diving attempt but not close to catching it and Moore gets a double out of it!!

Dyal grounds out to 2b but good job of moving Moore up to 3rd.

LaRue doesn't get the ball in play and strikes out. Would much rather him try to suicide squeeze Moore in than just swing at crap in the dirt.

Foster also strikes out. Disappointing at bats continue.

4-1 Auburn B6th

Another lead off double. Sigh. Single and a run scores. This is what happens when the bats go quiet after 2 innings. Swilling is coming in for Bright.

4-2 Auburn

LaRue is not good at the plate because he focuses on pitching and catching. He's saved our bacon a few times in other ways.

Time to pull TB. The Aggies are catching on.

94 MPH fastball from Swilling to get a strike out looking!

Swilling coming out aggressive and going right at these hitters. 2nd strikeout! No balls thrown yet!

Starts the next batter 0-2 but falls behind 3-2. That 3rd ball was very close and most of Auburn fielder's thought it was strike 3. Swilling loses him with a walk.

Ground out to Foster to end the inning and stop the bleeding.

Bello, Rambusch, and Howell up.

4-2 Auburn T7th. Seriously need to get some insurance runs.

Bello very unlucky this game. Another hard hit fly out.

3rd strikeout for Rambusch and that's 10 for the A&M pitcher.

Nice 2 strike hitting from Howell and he gets a single! Howell gets thrown out stealing 2nd.

4-2 Auburn B7th
