Softball vs #7 Florida

Recommended Posts

Yep.  I love our girls, but we're going to have to be patient as they grow to accommodate the SEC.  We have Arky and Miss. St. on the road, with Georgia at home, then finish with Tennessee on the road.  Breaking even those 12 games would be reasonably good.

Interesting game tomorrow night - the rubber game of UGA vs Alabama,  Georgia won the first game, had a 3-1 lead in Game 2, but collapsed to a 9-3 loss.  UGA is 31-6 with 66 homers.  Fouts will probably pitch for the tide.

AU hitters more disciplined at the plate this year but continue to chase too many bad pitches.  Florida very efficient at the plate as far as pitch selection which shows up in their accumulated hits.  For the series they out hit us 26 to 13.   I thought overall a very good effort by Penta this weekend.  Need to clean up some of the mental mistakes in the infield and on base path.

@slot canyon that is true. We faced the best pitching in a series thus far and it really showed how our bats are not as strong as we had thought.. now we start the slow descend through the SEC rankings... UF was not the free swingers 2nd time they saw Penta... The infield needs to be tweaked and Blaine needs to return to DP, Garcia to 3rd, Peralta at SS, McCondichie at 2nd. LF and RF should be true outfielders as too many balls landed just inside the lines as we appeared to misread and take the wrong steps off the bat... Cox doesn't have a strong enough arm to play the corner.

I’ve been wondering why Garcia hasn’t come back to 3rd.
