Baseball vs Bammer

Recommended Posts

Just back from gorgeous Mexico Beach FL and in lovely East Alabama. Noting we have a great centerfielder in Howell. Looks thus like old style Friday night game. Scoreless going into top 5. Hoping to be present at Plainsman Park tomorrow.

Barnett on the mound and solid so far

Larue strikes out after a battle at the plate

Great pitching from Barnett but this is where our pitching problems have plagued us in the past. Hope we can get over the hump and win this thing.

I would say I jinxed us but it's happened too often. Can't leave Barnett in the game in the 6th inning. Never works out.

Glad to get a run and the lead back. Also, has John Armstrong been dealing with an injury the last month or so? Before the Arkansas game he hadn't pitched since the end of March. He has a 1.80 ERA now and has managed pretty good so far in relief tonight.

Edit: Just feels like we could have used his arm way more than we have.

Armstrong went 2.2 innings against Arkansas, struck out 4, walked 1, and gave up 0 hits. Has pitched 1.2 innings tonight and struck out 3 and no hits or walks.

That's some promising stuff coming from a freshman.

Auburn has the bases loaded in the B7th holding onto a 3-2 lead.

DiChiara has been walked 3 times.

Peirce strikes out. :(

3-2 T8th

Armstrong still rolling! Gives up a 1 out single before he erases it with a double play!

Dude's ERA is sitting at 1.59. Hasn't given up a run in his last two appearances against SEC competition.

Gotta give him the chance to finish this thing

Doubt we will see him in the 9th. I think he deserves the chance but he's only pitched more than 1 inning twice. And that was this game and the game against Arkansas.

No insurance runs ... 1-2-3 inning from Auburn.

Need 3 outs to get the series opener win.

Edit: Burkhalter coming in to pitch.

Our guys looked pretty pathetic swinging against that junk ball pitcher. Wow!

Btw, Burkhalter is having to do this against all left handed batters.

Farquhar makes the catch on the popup! Auburn Wins!
