Shooter was seen assuming a tactical firing position while people were fleeing. Evil continues to ruin this country.

Looks less like he cared about political sides and was just really messed up in the head. Based on his social media stuff. Yet, everyone seemed to ignore the signs.

Pretty much but I’m sure it will be turned into whatever the media wants it to be.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) tweeted a reference to a weekend shooting at a shopping mall in the Danish capital of Copenhagen that killed three people. For Denmark, which has strict gun laws, it was the first mass shooting since 2015, when two people were killed and five wounded in a shootout with police. “It’s time to admit that gun laws DO NOT stop mass shootings,” Boebert wrote.

So far this year, the United States has recorded more than 250 mass shootings, according to the nonprofit Gun Violence Archive.

Denmark has had like 2 mass shootings in the last 10 years.  The United States had 68 in June.  We are not the same.

The thing is that the pro-gun rhetoric and talking points just don't make any sense on a logical or statistical level.

If it were really true that having more guns in society made people safer and that "good guys with guns" really were the reliable, plentiful, heros they are made out to be then the United states should theoretically be one of the safest countries with the least amount of mass shootings anywhere. We have more good guys with gun than any other place on the planet and so we shouldn't have regular mass shootings because there should  always be a good guy with a gun nearby willing and able to stop any baddies in their tracks.

In reality, of course, this doesn't prove to be true.

All that having more guns in society accomplishes is that more bad people have easy access to them, and with a country of 340+ million people with epidemic levels of mental illness, drug abuse, and political/social polarization, it's impossible to predict or keep track of who among us may or may not be the next mass shooter. There's too many people....too many Guns....too many easy ways to legally get a Gun. Other countries have problems with mental illness, drugs, and societal issues also...the difference is that the US is the only country that allows all these people easy and accessible weapons of war as a special "freedom", which apparently trumps everyone else freedom to live in a safe and secure society where you don't have to be packing heat yourself just because you know every other low down drug addict and thief in your community also has a gun under their belt and may try to use it against you one day. Other people in other countries don't have to worry about stuff like this and they are better off for it.

The Good Guy With A Gun trope is also simply untrue. At most the good guys with guns will stop the bad guy only after the bad guy has committed the crime or committed the mass murder. It gets them off the street, but it does nothing to save or help the bad guys initial victims. In a few rare instances you will have a good citizen prevent a crime or stop a shooting with their own defensive firearm, but that doesn't do anything to comfort the victims of the many, many, many shootings that aren't stopped.

More guns in more hands doesn't make America safer, it makes America more deadly and less stable. That's reality.

Don't blame the media.  Critical thinking is allowed.

@Salty Tiger I see you "facepalmed" Homers statement that the suspect was MAGA.

What's your take on why he wore Trump memorabilia and is photographed/videoed at multiple Trump events?

Poor Salty, whenever the truth might threaten his prejudices,,, he can no longer process information.  Many people would rather believe in something than, know the truth.

I do not say that with judgment or condemnation, it is,,, what it is.

Officials are confirming the suspect legally purchased the assault rifle he used in the shooting.

A doctor who was at the scene helping the wounded described the injuries as  “unspeakable” wounds that were essentially “wartime injuries.”

This person is not right in the head.  I would think most mass shooters in this type of scenario would either be shot by police or commit suicide.  This guy clearly wanted to get away with his crime.

The Parkland school shooter did the same trying to blend in with the crowd.

Those are almost all gang shootings in cities that have laws against owning guns.
