Mark My Word 2022

As a rule, I never do MMW for us, on account of how big a jinx I believe I am. Instead, I will do MMWs for our competition - the SEC by division and in alphabetical order

MMW - Steve Sarkesian makes it two in a row for Saban assistants beating their former boss, UTx edges Bama in 2OT in week 2.

MMW - Arkansas remains in the hunt for winning the West the entire season, only to lose at Mizzou at the end of the year, which drops them to 3rd.

MMW - By week 5, LSU is in a bind a QB as both Daniels and Nussmeier are injured. Nussmeier plays through but not well and Brian Kelly's first season is a 6-6 slog but with a win over a top 10 team.

MMW - Mike Leach continues his wizardry and MSU hosts gameday in week 6 vs Arkansas

MMW - Ole Miss breezes through the first part of their schedule, gets overranked, and then drops 4 of their last 5.

MMW - aTm loses in week 4 (vs Arky), 5 (letdown vs MSST), and 6 (Bama).

MMW - Florida does not beat UGA, but wins the East.

MMW - Stetson Bennett gets hurt early in the season and can't return in time for the USCe game, and UGA drops the game to the Crackalackys

MMW - Remember UF winning the East? Its because UGA drops a game to UK too.

MMW - Mizzou pulls off an upset vs a top 25 team to be bowl eligible at 6-6

MMW - USCe's Spencer Rattler gets a signature win before fading down the stretch, and doesn't finish the season due to injury.

MMW - Tennessee is knocked out of the East title race after giving Bama a scare, beating UK, and then losing to UGA.

MMW - Vanderbilt gives the SEC its first win of the year beating Hawai'i in Week 0.

That would likely be true. If talent turned out to be the reason AU wins 8-9 games we all know said talent didn't come from Harsin's recruiting.

I think it's high time you realize that Harsin has upgraded the talent in almost every position room since he's been here.

Do I have to actually lay it out for you, or can you research it yourself?

I'll help you a little.

DL- upgrade

WR- major upgrade

Edge- upgrade

Secondary- upgrade

QB- though we lost Nix it's overall still an upgrade

RB- upgrade

In 2013 my MMW was we would win the West.

Here is what I believe for 2022:

Our OL has its best season in years.

We do not have a "Georgia State" (or Jax State, or Utah State, pick you year) game where a patsy nearly beats us.

Our defense exceeds expectations at every position, keeping us in games and contributing to wins. This surprises the national press.

We win far more than expected, but we drop a stupid game (Mizzou or Miss State).

We scare the crap out of Bama in Tuscaloosa. Bama likely drops a game prior to their Iron Bowl scare. Bama still wins the West, but this leads to discussions about Bama's dynasty being over.

Georgia drops a stupide game, either Tennessee or Florida.

We end up 8-4 but it feels like 9-3.

We win our bowl game, for a change.

The SEC does not win the CFP national championship. Ohio State does.

Auburn is seen as rising, kind of like Arkansas right now. This provides a boost in recruiting.

Every one of those positions is anchored by players that were here when Harsin arrived.

Improved them into AU's first losing season in eight years. Yeppers, that's a big step up right there.

Why would you?   You just proved that about half the starters were brought in by CBH. Therefore disproving your initial assessment. Thanks.

It's amazing that players with less than a 9-12 months on campus have supplanted all that quality depth.

This would be a very, very Ole Miss thing to do.

MMW

It takes 3-4 games before the QB quandary is settled.
Auburn beats LSU on a last second FG, sending them into a tailspin.
The AU defense is top 10 nationally

Every AU fan will need a sedative as most games will come down to the last drive.

MMW Non Auburn related

FSU beats LSU in week 2 and it may not be close

Oregon either loses to UGA in a very close game  or beats UGA and runs the table in the PAC 12.  Bo will be a darkhorse

South Carolina comes out of nowhere to finish 2nd in the East
