Target Tracker: Week 2

Every week Auburn247 will update you on the performances of Auburn's commits and how they performed in their high school games. But we're also going to update you on notable performances from some of Auburn's top 2023, 2024 and 2025 targets.

This list of recruits will vary week to week based on performances and availability of stats.

Auburn's commits returned to action on Friday night, which included a big performance from Auburn's newest commit and a couple of commits continuing to roll.

Just like the first week of games, all of Auburn's commits won, moving to 2-0 or 1-0 on the season.

A look at how each commit performed in their games:

Daquayvious Sorey

Auburn247 was on hand for Daquayvious Sorey's season opener and he didn't disappoint after committing to the Tigers earlier that day. On the very first play of the game Sorey hurdled over a defender that was eerily similar to some that Seth Williams pulled off at Auburn.

Sorey's night was over before halftime even hit with Chipley up big and ultimately beating Rutherford 41-0. Sorey will play some safety this year for Chipley just like he did as a junior, but that wasn't necessary on Friday.

Season stats: 6 catches, 145 yards, 2 TDs | 2 punt returns, 46 yards

Chipley Tigers: 2-0

Terrance Love

Terrance Love didn't get much work in Langston Hughes' season opener, with the Panthers up big he wasn't needed at receiver and the opposition avoided his side of the field for most of the game. Against McEachern, though, Love got it going in a big way.

The safety commit totaled seven tackles and caught a 63-yard touchdown and a 23-yard pass, totaling 86 yards. Langston Hughes marched to a commanding 47-21 win over McEachern and is set to have its home opener against Mays on Friday.

Season stats: 10 tackles, 1 PBU | 3 receptions, 90 yards, 1 TD

Langston Hughes Panthers: 2-0

Jeremiah Cobb

Auburn's running back commit Jeremiah Cobb just keeps on cooking. Cobb wasn't needed much in Montgomery Catholic's 60-7 rout of Alabama Christian, but he made the most of his time on the field.

Cobb carried the ball 10 times for 134 yards and three touchdowns. He caught three passes for 33 yards and a touchdown.

Montgomery Catholic travels to play Booker T. Washington (Ala.) this Friday in Tuskegee.

Season stats: 27 carries, 349 yards, 6 TDs (12.9 YPC) | 5 receptions, 95 yards, 2 TDs

Montgomery Catholic Knights: 2-0

Karmello English

After a tough season opener against Hewitt-Trussville, Karmello English and Central-Phenix City got a bit of a breather in a game two matchup with Smiths Station. The Red Devils cruised to a 38-0 win.

In the win, English caught five passes for 89 yards.

Central hosts Enterprise next Friday.

Season stats: 10 receptions, 130 yards, 1 TD (13 YPC)

Central-Phenix City Red Devils: 2-0

JC Hart

Loachapoka's JC Hart was effective again on both sides of the ball in the Indians' 20-6 win over Beulah. Being recruited by Auburn to play cornerback, Hart plays both cornerback and wide receiver for Loachapoka.

In Friday's win, Hart caught five passes for 100 yards and tallied five tackles.

Next up for Hart and 'Poka is a trip to Verbena.

Season stats: 7 tackles, 1 PBU | 10 receptions, 182 yards, 1 TD

Loachapoka Indians: 2-0

Bradyn Joiner

Playing over at left tackle, Bradyn Joiner had a pretty dominant outing against Enterprise. In 58 snaps Joiner recorded nine pancakes and knockdowns and did not give up a sack.

That's two straight games without giving up a sack for Joiner.

Auburn High took down Enterprise 31-21 and now hosts Dothan on Friday for its home opener.

Auburn High Tigers: 2-0

Wilky Denaud

Wilky Denaud and John Caroll (Fla.) took down Benjamin High School by a score of 24-21 on Thursday.

Denaud's stats have not been shared yet.

John Carroll Rams: 1-0

A'Mon Lane (2024)

A'Mon Lane and Moody continue to absolutely roll in the first season of the Jake Ganus era. Moody won 56-21 in its season opener against Pell City where Lane recorded four tackles in the commanding win.

Against Sylacauga on Friday, the high-flying Moody offense went for 58 in a 58-24 win.

Lane got a little run on offense against Sylacauga, catching one pass for five yards. His defensive stats have not been recorded yet.

The Moody Blue Devils host Alexandria on Sept. 2.

Season stats: 4 tackles (1 game of recorded stats) | 1 catch, 5 yards

Moody Blue Devils: 2-0

Not in action

Auburn's 4-star 2024 quarterback commitAdrian Posse transferred to Miami Edison (Fla.) last week and now his season won't start until Thursday, when they take on Booker T. Washington (Fla.). Posse was previously at Columbus high school in Miami.

4COMMENTS

Edge commit Ashley Williams and Zachary had their jamboree game this week and will start the season this Friday. Williams did get busy in the jamboree game, recording a sack.

Future Tiger Tracker: Hart wins it, other big games from Auburn commits

It was another big week for Auburn's commits this week, which included one commit being responsible for all of his team's points. Auburn247 is keeping up with all of Auburn's commits this season, tracking how they perform each week and their stats for the season.

Follow the future and see how Auburn's commits performed this week:

JC Hart

Loachapoka took down Verbena 14-0 on Friday night, and that win comes on the shoulders of JC Hart.

Hart got things started in the first quarter hauling in a 30-yard touchdown pass and then on the other side of the ball, where Auburn is recruiting him, Hart had a 92-yard pick-six to go up 14-0 after the 2-pt conversion. Hart totaled 130 receiving yards on the day.

Loachapoka is up to 3-0 on the season now after another strong performance from Hart and has Hayneville Central (Ala.) at home next week.

Loachapoka Indians: 3-0

Jeremiah Cobb

It's been video game numbers every week for Jeremiah Cobb and this week was no different.

In a 56-14 thrashing of Booker T. Washington (Ala.), Cobb took 17 carries for 205 yards and five touchdowns. Cobb's workload has been minimal this year with big wins each week, but he's taken advantage of every carry he's gotten.

Cobb and the Knights return home to host Slocomb (Ala.) this Friday.

Season stats: 44 carries, 554 yards, 11 TDs (12.6 YPC) | 5 receptions, 95 yards, 2 TDs

Montgomery Catholic Knights: 3-0

Daquayvious Sorey

It was smooth sailing for wide receiver Daquayvious Sorey and Chipley (Fla.) again, cruising to a 46-9 win over Pike Liberal Arts (Ala.). In the big win Sorey only played the first half but still managed to put up some big numbers.

The Top247 wide receiver caught six passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns.

Chipley has a rivalry game at home against Homles County (Fla.) next Friday.

Season stats: 12 receptions, 254 yards, four touchdowns

Chipley Tigers: 2-0

Bradyn Joiner

Auburn's offensive line commit Bradyn Joiner continues to set the tone at the line of scrimmage at Auburn High School (Ala.). Joiner and the baby Tigers beat Dothan 42-14 on Friday, which included one big highlight reel block from Joiner.

Joiner also nearly had another highlight reel play, lining up in the wildcat at the goal line, but the snap was mishandled and Dothan took it back for a touchdown.

Auburn High hosts Jefferson Davis (Ala.) this upcoming Friday.

Auburn High Tigers: 3-0

Karmello English

Karmello English hurt his toe on the first drive, but played through the injury and played out the rest of the first half before sitting the second half with Central-Phenix City up big on Enterprise.

Despite the injury, English still managed to put up six receptions for 71 yards. He took one carry for two yards.

Next up for Central is a trip to play at Opelika (Ala.).

Season stats: 16 receptions, 201 yards, 1 TD (12.6 YPC)

Central-Phenix City Red Devils: 3-0

Ashley Williams

Auburn's second edge commit, Ashley Williams, finally got his season started at Zachary (La.). The Broncos took down East Ascension (La.) 35-13, and Williams took down the opposing offense a few times.

Williams finished the game with three tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and a deflected pass at the line of scrimmage.

Zachary plays John Curtis Christian (La.) next Friday.

Season stats: 3 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack

Zachary Broncos: 1-0

Denaud's stats have not been shared yet.

John Carroll Catholic Rams: 2-0

A'Mon Lane (2024)

A'Mon Lane and the Moody Blue Devils (Ala.) took down Alexandria (Ala.) 42-27 on Friday. Lane and his dad, first-year coach Jake Ganus, host Cleburne County (Ala.) next Friday.

Lane's stats have not been shared yet.

Season stats: 4 tackles (1 game of recorded stats)

Moody Blue Devils: 3-0

Adrian Posse (2024)

Auburn's 2024 quarterback commit will have to wait at least one more week for his season to start. Adrian Posse transferred from Miami Columbus (Fla.) to Miami Edison (Fla.) shortly before the season started, but eligibility issues held him out of the season opener.

Sources at Auburn have indicated that it could clear up this week and allow him to play in Week 2.

Future Tiger Tracker: Big all-around game for Sorey with Ike Hilliard in attendance

It was another big week for Auburn's commits this week, which included one commit putting together a big all-around game with an Auburn coach in attendance for the game. Auburn247 is keeping up with all of Auburn's commits this season, tracking how they perform each week and their stats for the season.

Follow the future and see how Auburn's commits performed this week:

Daquayvious Sorey

After a couple of blowout wins to start the season, Daquayvious Sorey and Chipley (Fla.) had a tougher test on Friday, playing Holmes County (Fla.) in a rivalry game. It was also a big game for Sorey, who had Auburn receivers coach Ike Hilliard in attendance to watch.

Chipley won 18-0 and Sorey did not disappoint. In the past two games Sorey checked out early and wasn't forced to do a lot, but that wasn't the case Friday. Sorey carried the ball four times for 68 yards, caught four passes for 71 yards and got his first snaps on defense this year with three tackles.

Next up for Sorey is a home game against Vernon on Sept. 16.

Season stats: 16 receptions, 325 yards, 4 TDs | 4 carries, 68 yards | 3 tackles

Chipley Tigers: 3-0

Jeremiah Cobb

At this point, you can just assume Jeremiah Cobb is going to have a huge game in a blowout win for Montgomery Catholic. For the fourth week in a row, that was the case.

In a 58-0 win over Slocomb, Cobb carried the ball 14 times for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Through the air Cobb caught three passes for 72 yards and two touchdowns. As crazy as it sounds, Cobb's 8.3 yards per carry on Friday night was the lowest he's been at all season.

Next up for Cobb and Montgomery Catholic is a home game against Geneva.

Season stats: 58, 670 yards, 13 TDs (11.6 YPC), 8 receptions, 167 yards, 4 TDs

Montgomery Catholic Knights: 4-0

Karmello English

In a surprising upset on Friday night, Karmello English and Central-Phenix City (Ala.) lost 14-17 to Opelika (Ala.).

English, though, put up one of his best games of the season catching eight passes for 82 yards. English took two carries but couldn't get anything going, with -2 rushing yards. Next up for English is a game at Jefferson Davis (Ala.).

Season stats: 24 receptions, 283 yards, 1 TD (11.8 YPC)

Central-Phenix City Red Devils: 3-1

JC Hart

Loachapoka (Ala.) and JC Hart stayed perfect Friday night in a 39-16 win over Hayneville Central (Ala.). For Hart, it was another productive game with three receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown on offense and five tackles and a pass breakup on defense. The touchdown was a 45-yard touchdown.

Next up is a home game against Notasulga on Friday.

Loachapoka Indians: 4-0

Ashley Williams

Going up against John Curtis Christian (La.) and its veer offense, Auburn edge commit Ashley Williams didn't have a ton of opportunities to attack the quarterback on Friday. That didn't stop him from putting together another productive night in the 40-21 win, though.

Williams totaled four tackles, two tackles for loss and a pass deflection. Williams and Zachary (La.) play against St. Augustine this Friday.

Season stats: 7 tackles, 4 TFL, 1 sack

Zachary Broncos: 2-0

Bradyn Joiner

With the Central-Phenix City loss and a 31-0 win on Friday night for Bradyn Joiner and Auburn High, the Tigers are expected to move up to No. 1 in the 7A rankings this week.

Joiner and Auburn High play at Lee (Ala.) next Friday.

Auburn High Tigers: 4-0

Wilky Denaud

Wilky Denaud and John Carroll Catholic's (Fla.) game was canceled due to rain.

Next up is a trip to play at South Fork (Fla.).

John Caroll Catholic Rams: 2-0

A'Mon Lane (2024)

A'Mon Lane and the Moody Blue Devils (Ala.) took down Cleburne County (Ala.) 62-7 on Thursday. Lane and Moody play at Lincoln (Ala.) on Sept. 16.

Lane's stats have not been shared yet.

I wonder what the problem is? Columbus is a Catholic school and transferring from private to public school doesn't normally create an issue.

Maybe some credits did not transfer?

Columbus is regarded as one of the very top high schools academically in the Miami area. It's noted as a college prep school. I doubt if credits from Columbus is a problem. However, Edison is now Posse's fourth high school. There may well be some complications from prior years.

My nephew graduated from Columbus with good but not sensational grades. He got a full-ride academic scholarship to FSU. That school is extremely well regarded and I hated to see Posse leave there. The Good Marist Brothers at Columbus will put a kid on the right track and keep him there, athlete or not.

Future Tiger Tracker: Big all-around game for Sorey with Ike Hilliard in attendance

Christian Clemente
5-6 minutes

It was another big week for Auburn's commits this week, which included one commit putting together a big all-around game with an Auburn coach in attendance for the game. Auburn247 is keeping up with all of Auburn's commits this season, tracking how they perform each week and their stats for the season.

Follow the future and see how Auburn's commits performed this week:

In a surprising upset on Friday night, Karmello English and Central-Phenix City (Ala.) lost 14-17 to Opelika (Ala.).

English, though, put up one of his best games of the season catching eight passes for 82 yards. English took two carries but couldn't get anything going, with -2 rushing yards. Next up for English is a game at Jefferson Davis (Ala.).

Season stats: 24 receptions, 283 yards, 1 TD (11.8 YPC)

Central-Phenix City Red Devils: 3-1

Loachapoka (Ala.) and JC Hart stayed perfect Friday night in a 39-16 win over Hayneville Central (Ala.). For Hart, it was another productive game with three receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown on offense and five tackles and a pass breakup on defense. The touchdown was a 45-yard touchdown.

Next up is a home game against Notasulga on Friday.

Loachapoka Indians: 4-0

Going up against John Curtis Christian (La.) and its veer offense, Auburn edge commit Ashley Williams didn't have a ton of opportunities to attack the quarterback on Friday. That didn't stop him from putting together another productive night in the 40-21 win, though.

Williams totaled four tackles, two tackles for loss and a pass deflection. Williams and Zachary (La.) play against St. Augustine this Friday.

Season stats: 7 tackles, 4 TFL, 1 sack

Zachary Broncos: 2-0

With the Central-Phenix City loss and a 31-0 win on Friday night for Bradyn Joiner and Auburn High, the Tigers are expected to move up to No. 1 in the 7A rankings this week.

Joiner and Auburn High play at Lee (Ala.) next Friday.

Auburn High Tigers: 4-0

Wilky Denaud and John Carroll Catholic's (Fla.) game was canceled due to rain.

Next up is a trip to play at South Fork (Fla.).

John Caroll Catholic Rams: 2-0

A'Mon Lane and the Moody Blue Devils (Ala.) took down Cleburne County (Ala.) 62-7 on Thursday. Lane and Moody play at Lincoln (Ala.) on Sept. 16.

Lane's stats have not been shared yet.

Season stats: 4 tackles (1 game of recorded stats)

Moody Blue Devils: 4-0

Langston Hughes (Ga.) and Terrance Love had an open week after the 3-0 start to the season. The Panthers will host New Manchester (Ga.) next Friday.

Langston Hughes Panthers: 3-0

Adrian Posse transferred from Miami Columbus (Fla.) to Miami Edison (Fla.) shortly before the season started and eligibility issues continue to hold him out of games. Miami Edison took down North Miami (Fla.) 35-24 on Friday.

Miami Edison Red Raiders: 1-1

Fresh off a bye week and recovered from a shoulder injury, one of Auburn's commits put up a big game on Friday night along with a return to action for another one of Auburn's commits. Auburn247 is keeping up with all of Auburn's commits this season, tracking how they perform each week and their stats for the season.

Season stats: 27 receptions, 493 yards, 7 TDs | 4 carries, 68 yards | 10 tackles

Chipley Tigers: 5-0

Terrance Love — S

It was another relatively quiet game for Auburn's safety commit as teams look to attack whichever side of the field he's not on. In a 48-3 win over Douglas County (Ga.), Love recorded three tackles.

Langston Hughes (Ga.) and Love play at Alexander (Ga.) on Friday.

Season stats: 19 tackles, 1 PBU | 3 receptions, 90 yards, 1 TD

Langston Hughes Panthers: 4-0

Adrian Posse — 2024 QB

After transferring to Miami Edison (Fla.) and eligibility issues forced him to sit out the first three games of the season, Posse was ruled eligible and played on Friday night against Rickards (Fla.).

Edison lost 38-25 and stats have not been shared yet, but Posse did say after Auburn's win against Missouri he had a touchdown pass.

Season stats: N/A

Miami Edison Red Raiders: 1-3

It's getting close to mid season and we have an unusual percentage of kids who are playing on teams that are still undefeated. That can't be bad.

Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets: 6-0

Jeremiah Cobb — RB

After suffering a minor ankle injury Montgomery Catholic (Ala.) pulled Cobb from the game to be safe. Before that, Cobb had four carries for 32 yards. Part of playing it safe came from the fact the Knights trounced Montgomery Academy (Ala.) 72-15.

Montgomery Catholic hosts Bullock County (Ala.) this Friday.

Season stats: 78 carries, 1,045 yards, 17 TDs (13.4 YPC) | 9 receptions, 170 yards, 4 TDs

Montgomery Catholic Knights: 7-0

JC Hart — CB

Fresh off a bye week, Hart and Loachapoka (Ala.) won 50-0 against Calhoun (Ala.). Hart accounted for two touchdowns in the win — one as a receiver and one on a punt return.

This Friday it's a trip to Autaugaville (Ala.) for the undefeated Indians.

Season stats: N/A

Loachapoka Indians: 6-0

Ashley Williams — edge

Traveling up to Winona (Miss.), Williams made the most of the trip and racked up two tackles-for-loss, one sack, one forced fumble and three quarterback pressures in a 49-14 win.

Williams plays Woodlawn-B.R. this Thursday.

Season stats: 13 tackles, 6 TFL, 4.5 sacks, 1 FF

Bradyn Joiner — IOL

The No. 1 team in the state of Alabama, Auburn High (Ala.) kept rolling with a 51-29 win over Opelika (Ala.) on Friday. Joiner got a little dinged up in the win, but Auburn High is on a bye week this week to give him extra time to heal.

After the bye week, Auburn High will play at Central-Phenix City (Ala.).

Season stats: N/A

Auburn High Tigers: 7-0

Wilky Denaud — DL

Hurricane Ian delayed Denaud's game to Monday against Cardinal Newman. It'll be a battle of the undefeated John Carroll Catholic Rams at 4-0 and the 5-0 Crusaders.

Denaud's next game is Oct. 14 against Cardinal Mooney (Fla.).

Season stats: N/A

John Carroll Catholic Rams: 4-0

A'Mon Lane — 2024 CB
