We have remedies, problem is without power in numbers whatever I think we should do means nothing. I can only vote for who I feel is the best candidate to make positive change. I as an individual can support people I want in office and try to garner support for that person.

Your remedy is to just support the same people that cause the problems in the first place. You are content because the s**t stinks different than the other side. I’m sorry if I’m tired of settling for the same s**t sandwich. One of these days you will realize you waste too much energy in a party that does not care about you one bit.

Same question as I posed to DKW:

Tell me which party has tried the hardest to get immigration legislation passed and which party has done the most to stymie such legislation?

Price of oil was only $49/bbl at the end of 2016. Not high by any means.......

Again, do your research.

I think a better use of time would be you learning something about profits in the oil market as demand declines and rises.

Price is an indicator but,,, profits are the absolute.

You are the one that said it depends on the price of oil….

However you try to slice it, Texas a “red” state sends more money to the federal government than it receives no matter what’s going on with the oil industry.

No they don't.  They are better than the other "red" socialist states though.  I will give you that.  Still, it is only because of oil.  It is not a result of policy.

That's a pretty poor excuse for supporting a would be narcissistic authoritarian.

Sounds to me that you are divorced from reality.  Your standards for a political party that you can support are wildly out of touch.  You - like DKW - are apparently incapable of real world compromise.

Here's just the most recent example:

Senate Republicans block bill to require disclosure of ‘dark money’ donors

September 22, 2022

Senate Republicans on Thursday blocked legislation that would have required super PACs and other groups to disclose donors who give $10,000 or more during an election cycle, a blow to Democrats’ efforts to reform campaign financing laws.

In a procedural vote Thursday morning, the Senate failed to advance the Disclose Act on a 49-49 vote along party lines. No Republicans voted for it. At least 60 votes would have been required for the Senate to end debate on the bill and advance it.....

You and DKW can bitch all you want about how terrible the Democratic party is, but to me, the (binary) choice is pretty damn clear.   Vote Blue!

(Or maybe you two don't consider this sort of uncontrolled money in our electoral process is a real problem?)

And this is why I cannot, do not support Reps anymore. I just cant. They are not even thinking about supporting the middle class. They blindly support corps. Maybe i truly dont criticize the Reps enough. That is likely fair. But it is not because i like them at all. It is just on average this forum is on the verge of beating the dead horse criticizing them most days.

They have a set profit margin. Around 8% I believe. Doesn’t change.

Let me take off my costume for a moment here. Homie is dead on correct. I am trying to get everyone to see we are in fact governing by not governing. We have no sound stated Immigration Policy and that was the whole point of the troll session that was this thread, and will continue to be. We have 2M or more Illegal Immigrants at the border in a year. We are basically borderless now. Even if we turn those we have "encounters" with it is just a sieve. We have no idea how many are actually crossing the border. NO IDEA AT ALL.

The thought that 48 Venezuelans means anything more than bupkis in all this is just flat out ******* lunacy. We have 200K per month crossing THAT WE KNOW OF. And we are going to clutch pearls at 48? Was it a stunt that the State of FL authorized money for? Yes it was. It was a stunt to get everyone's attention on Immigration Reform. That 2M/year into FL, TX, NM, AZ and CA is completely unsubstainable. The fact that some privileged white people in MV got shamed in front of the nation was just for humor. And yes I enjoyed watching them eat the same s*** sandwich they want to the border states to eat everyday.

And BTW:

May be an image of 1 person and text that says 'Locksmiths in Martha's Vineyard today....'
