If we got Kiffin, would people learn how to spell his name correctly?

Yes.

If there was a reason for Auburn fans to be familiar enough with a man to spell his name correctly when there are at least 8 different ways his name could be spelled (that I can think of off the top of my head), then we definitely would.

Just jumped into this dialogue and voted for Bob Stoops. Noticed he’s not very popular now. Of course he’s been out of circulation but he has SEC experience, great motivator, recruiting magnet, national championship experience, morals are impeccable and a sound X’s and O’s boy!

Maybe the alum, boosters and political crowd could entice him into returning to this wonderful game! He certainly fits the Auburn Creed and Auburn Characteristics!

Now don’t  all y’all youngsters blow my tail feathers off with this ole man’s suggestion! Love my 🐅

@bigbirdDont think I turned on Grimes. The mustache man is a very close number 2. But Joey Freshwater has been my first coach in line for years. I just don’t think we have a realistic shot at him.

Oh no, I didn't.

I know who your first love is!

Was this response run through a Chinese language translator?

What I was trying to say....for this selection what are their reasons for wanting to stay with CBH. Really just curious and wanting to know if those were serious selections. :)

The battered wife syndrome people have with regards to Urban Meyer and Hugh Freeze is baffling. Winning does not cover up toxic personalities.

What about Freeze is so toxic? Because he oversaw the paying of players? Because he called an escort service?

Putting Freeze in the same boat as Meyer and Kiffen is pretty baffling, if you ask me. Freeze has success in the SEC on his resume, he just got knocked down a notch for BS reasons. Like Bruce Pearl did before Auburn hired him. It's not difficult to understand why the two feel like similar hires.

When does Bob Stoops have SEC experience? He was at Oklahoma, which has yet to join the SEC.

I mean, he was Spurrier's DC more than two decades ago, but that 3 year slice is the only SEC experience he has, so it's not a particularly strong selling point.

He's also a repeat offender. Paid for recruits when that was not allowed (cheater) Used his company phone to call prostitutes (idiot, cheater, low moral character), and then recently reached out to a sexual assault victim who had ongoing litigation against Liberty University (stupid, bully, tone-death).

I think he has a pretty good shot at getting the job though.

He prolly wouldn't be here long enough for us to learn how, lol.

The first two I really don't have too much problem with. The third one might be troubling (though it's "tone-deaf", not "tone-death"), but I know nothing about it.

What did the alleged “reaching out” entail?

I tend to agree with the issues on Freeze, everyone has the moral line etc, for me its urban. I mean the paying for recruits, not like thats not been going on forever (wink wink saban), and the escort stuff is just not something you want to see in a head coach but his programs from what I remember he didnt have player issues etc, so I think its just bad PR stuff. THe recent thing was him sticking up for one of his players where he posted to someone that was taking litigation against the school. I agree he should have never done that and was bad judgement, so it does show that he sometimes is impulsive and can make bad decisions. So I can see why some folks have issues with him as a coach, the question is I think some feel like me that he can do better and learn from his mistakes and deserves another chance, the flip side is he is not worth the risk.

Hugh Freeze will be on top of the list . It only makes sense. If you have moral distress, see your local chaplain or take some GABA

Always a two sided coin. Are you sure he was defending a player?

A different, but not different enough to start its own thread, what percentage would you put each listed candidate in the poll of coming here?

My guess:

Kiffin--20%

Sanders--40%

Freeze--70%

Mark Stoops--10%

Bob Stoops--5%

Jeff Grimes--45%

Make of this what you will. Unsure of who he would count as a "Muschamp"--hopefully Grimes, Monken (would put at 45%) or McGee (would put at 60%) would count.

I guess I'm just trying to get a gauge of who we can get.

Muschamp sighting. People think I am playing but I can see Auburn hiring him. He has been at UGA this year and probably will interview really well.

I thought it was a player but looks like he was defending the AD McCaw - https://brobible.com/sports/article/hugh-freeze-chelsea-andrews-liberty-twitter/

Talks about him DM to people directly and probably shouldnt do that as a HC, but he would still be in my top 3.

He didn't say Muschamp himself. He said someone LIKE him, "a coach with SEC ties who has been a good talent evaluator and knows the league," though not "sexy." There are obviously two guys at Georgia I would much rather target before Muschamp, though I wouldn't be opposed to either of them bringing him along as DC.
