I thought it was a player but looks like he was defending the AD McCaw - https://brobible.com/sports/article/hugh-freeze-chelsea-andrews-liberty-twitter/

Talks about him DM to people directly and probably shouldnt do that as a HC, but he would still be in my top 3.

Agree that he shouldn’t do that, especially in that circumstance. Talking about football to people that you are pretty sure want to hear from you is what responsible leaders would do. I would go with Grimes instead if possible to get him.

Muschamp sighting. People think I am playing but I can see Auburn hiring him. He has been at UGA this year and probably will interview really well.

I didn't include Muschamp for various reasons, he is from my hometown in Georgia, although *cough* I'm a little older, lol.  I really like his work as a DC but he really has struggled as a HC and at least for me I'm not sure the fanbase would be overjoyed with the hire. He can recruit but not sure how many times you give someone another HC opportunity, I really would prefer Grimes/Freeze over Muschamp but thats just me.

So muschamp, Isn't it annoying to constantly repeat things while being misconstrue ? Think hard before you respond.

OL and OL coaches are the smartest of the group. Obviously, there are outliers, but generally it's true. Grimes is Pittman at Arky with panache.  He is very adept and smooth with power and money and can read and work a room beautifully. Also, he has a substantial network to pull from.

Here is his Baylor profile. Pay specific attention to his offensive numbers and recruiting prowess.

Was very close to voting for him initially.

I stopped reading his bio at "reliable violent offense."  I'm in, full bore.

WDE!

Well, our defense would be formidable again. That'd be nice.

Seriously, Lane and Freeze would be guaranteed to fix the O. Who would be guaranteed to fix the D? And who would be really good at possibly doing both?

Also, this is what a lot of us were saying since 2015-16

That change might not be perfect but it will be better than what we have now. Do not let perfect be the enemy of good...especially when what you have is the opposite of good.

I've heard there is interest by both parties, TIFWIW.

Don't you do it BB. Do NOT spin this for Muschamp!

But I do prefer more of a defensive minded coach.

Most of this is awesome and exactly why I’ve wanted Grimes as AU HC for 4-5 years but the bold part? No….that would be message board posters

The most compelling argument to this point is undoubtedly:

Pittman with panache. (went back to see who to credit,,, Bird,,, he had to have gotten it from Golf, he could not come up with that himself)

We need panache.  If we had panache and, we could get a little mojo, then we would have swagger.  Without panache, we're just kidding ourselves.

You guys need to go to YouTube and watch the latest interview Deion gave. You will change your mind about him. He gives all the credit to his great NFL coaching staff!  He is not a loose cannon. He’s very serious!

Auburn has No identity. He would come in with tremendous excitement and recruits will flock to him. He will blow Kiffen, Hughes and Stoops out of the water!!!

If we miss on him you guys will be sorry. Don’t be short sighted. He is going to a major University!!!

Nope, not me. He can be Grime's DC and that's it!

Hmmm, none of the above. Maybe Harsin with an organized & funded NIL? To be clear, he's as guilty as anybody at Auburn for that just getting under way - last winter the man told everybody that would listen he didnt "believe" in the NIL. Nevertheless, he can get the job done IMO with NIL and a couple better assistants.

Welcome! Feel free to circulate any support to your friends and family.

Can I join too? I've been on the Grimes train for awhile now. Wanted him after we fired Gus.

You really think Grimes is a serious candidate?

He has been down the totem pole for me but maybe he can be a Sam Pittman for us. Iono.

I’ve said it for awhile but I’ll say it again- he’s (Grimes) my number one. Would be a guy that laid a foundation and set us up for long term success. Not flashy but so much more likely to be a durable solution. He might fail miserably but I would bet otherwise
