From Fox News To The Kremlin. How US Right Wing Media and Russian State Propaganda Often Mirror each other.

The New Conspiracy theory for portions of the American Right wing is that Biden/The United States sabotaged the Nord Stream Pipeline and are trying to frame Russia for it. There is of course no evidence at all suggesting this is true, but it's being repeated on Fox News's Tucker Carlson, Turning Point USA media, and the British Conservative outlets. 

These claims and news clips are being picked up and circulated by Russian State Media as a means to give legitimacy to the Russian claim that the West sabotaged the pipeline (Hey, Look! Even American "News" Says the US did it!"), and on some Russia propaganda stations Fox News is left playing in the background for hours at a time. 

 

My view on why some right wing/conservative Americans are so pro-Russia/anti-American is that its a combination of  things:

1: They Have to go against the Biden Administration no matter what. the US/Biden supports Ukraine, so they must support Russia or risk being on the same side as Biden 

And 

2) For a long time Russia has been seen as a Masculine/Conservative Utopia for many. It's a country that is almost exclusively White, Christian, masculine, anti-lgbtq, and led by an authoritarian right wing government. Everything the right idolizes. Especially people like Tucker Carlson who not too long ago before the war ran segments idolizing the masculinity and toughness of the Russian military compared to what he considers the weak, diverse, "woke" US military, and now the fact that it is struggling so mightily in it's war against Ukraine and is disintegrating is disturbing to him. Their goal is to get the US out of the conflict all together and  hopefully create a situation where Russia can stabilize itself. 

 

Support for Ukraine is still relatively high for Americans, even many conservatives, but far right figures like Carlson are slowly doing what they can to reverse that trend, and try and make supporting Ukraine more unpopular.

Tucker might still be but Fox News in general is not right wing any more. It’s why they lost a lot of viewership. It seems more like Lefty and Coffee are the ones not keeping up. But thanks for watching Tucker and helping his ratings. I don’t watch any Fox News any more. 
 

Russia is run by Putin, the KGB (GRU) new name, which is a communist style government. The opposite of what you are saying above. Leftists and democrats like you are the ones that like the communists and socialists. Not us.  Exclusively Christian? Are you joking. We have people in this country who love the idea of a fascist, authoritarian government.  They will call anyone who opposes them communist/socialist.

We have our own class of oligarchs, our own overclass.  We have never been further away from "socialism" than perhaps the late 19th/early 20th century.

Our problem is not the power of the government.  Our problem is the ability of the economically powerful to buy and manipulate the government.

We are no more "socialist" than any other advanced, democratic government in the world.  Probably less so.

Oh, in that case you might want to head over to all the Republican/Conservative rallies and let them know that they're not supposed to be Russia/Putin fans and that Russia is actually communist. Republican's seem to be really confused on who the good guys and bad guys are now a days.

You would think that the idea of weakening our institutions while encouraging the "strong man" at the top form of government would be enlightening.

These folks have destroyed the meaning in: patriotic, Christian, conservative, capitalism.  They are unwitting participants in the destruction of our representative democracy.
