No one has said your conspiratorial fantasy's would be a good thing if they were happening, just they aren't happening.

This is from the American Academy of Pediatrics in an article dated December of 2018:

Puberty Suppression

According to current clinical practice guidelines, appropriately screened TGNC youth are eligible for pubertal suppression with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists on initiation of puberty.39,40 The purpose of suspending puberty is twofold: First, blocking puberty buys more time for individuals to explore their gender identities with the support of their families and mental health providers without the development of unwanted secondary sex characteristics (such as voice deepening and breast development). Second, blocking the development of such characteristics means that TGNC youth who persist in their transgender identities will require fewer medical and surgical interventions in the future. Evidence reveals that pubertal suppression is associated with a reduction in depression and anxiety.41 There are potential risks, however, with using GnRH agonists in this patient population. Although they have been used for >30 years in children with precocious puberty, and the efficacy and side effect profile has been studied in this patient population, there is a paucity of data with which the long-term outcomes of use in TGNC youth are examined. Specific areas of uncertainty include the effect of pubertal suppression during this critical window of time in which the adolescent brain is developing and bone density is accruing.39,42 Delaying puberty also may place youth at risk for additional psychosocial challenges because they will remain physically prepubescent while their peers undergo puberty.39 Moreover, they may feel trapped on a certain trajectory once puberty suppression begins because even well-intentioned parents and providers may inadvertently reinforce a particular gender identity.3,43

Gender-Affirming Hormone Treatment

For those who have entered puberty, hormone treatment can help TGNC youth develop secondary sex characteristics that are in line with their gender identities. Similar to puberty suppression, there is a lack of data with which long-term outcomes of gender-affirming hormones in TGNC youth are examined. Specifically, there is uncertainty surrounding the long-term cardiovascular and metabolic effects of estrogen and testosterone therapy in addition to mental health outcomes.40 In its most recent guidelines, the Endocrine Society now recommends flexibility in the minimum age for the initiation of gender-affirming hormones; thus, hormones may sometimes be used in youth <16 years of age.39 A recent study in which researchers managed 55 transgender adolescents who underwent a rigorous psychological and/or gender assessment process before a clinical protocol of pubertal suppression, gender-affirming hormones, and gender-affirming surgery revealed a complete resolution of gender dysphoria. There were no cases of regret for making the decision to transition, and psychological outcomes were similar to or better than those of cisgender, age-matched young adults.41

Gender-Affirming Surgery

Surgery is often the final and generally irreversible step in gender affirmation. The Endocrine Society recommends delaying surgery in adolescents until the age of 18, although there is only limited, low-quality evidence to support this recommendation.39 The World Professional Association for Transgender Health proposes limiting surgery to the age of majority with the exception of chest surgery in trans men, which may be performed at a younger age as long as there is satisfaction with testosterone treatment.40 In practice, despite attachments to such organizations, at least 11 surgical specialists in the United States report having performed vaginoplasties on minors between the ages of 15 and 17 years, with implications for informed consent.44 No additional published data regarding the prevalence of gender-affirming bottom surgery performed in TGNC youth were found.

So, to your point; they’re not happening and they haven’t been happening for a long time.  :rollin:

First, you are misinterpreting this.

Secondly, I referring to surgeries - and or aggressive drug treatment being applied to K-3 (or K-whatever).

So, what to you mean by "they're" ?

The left is promoting teaching gender identity in K-3.  Basic biology says you can’t apply puberty blockers until you are about to reach PUBETY.

You’re lack of understanding is amazing.

But every time I ask for you to provide examples, you move the goalposts and talk about treatment given to older individuals.

Perhaps it's your lack of understanding that is the problem.

Mainly because you don’t have a basic knowledge of biology.  They (Rachel Levine) are grooming the kids in K-3 to socially construct an increased population of *supposed* gender dysphoria clients for *gender affirming * care.

And when you say *older* individuals do you mean adolescents that are 14-17?  You know under the age of consent for medical procedures?

It’s not my lack of understanding, it’s yours.

I’ve laid it out and it is obvious.  I’m not going to rehash all the material, so do your own homework. I know you won’t as you’re not interested.  I’m sure you are more interested in discussing Freeze’s past discretions.

LOL

Unless you have a doctorate degree in biology, I wouldn't go there if I were you.

And even so, I am quite confident in my "basic knowledge" of biology, as my BS and MS from Auturn would suggest.  (Want to compare backgrounds?)

And you keep saying stuff like this, even though there are no biological facts at issue.

What is at issue are your totally irrational claims about LGBTQ conspiracies.  It sounds like something right out of QAnon.  :ucrazy:

The fact you will not acknowledge that minors are getting harmful gender affirming care.  That includes puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and surgery.

First, "gender affirming care" can mean almost anything.

And the term "minor" is - medically speaking - irrelevant.  (A more relevant terminology would be "pre/post pubescent" in terms of physiology/anatomy and "maturity" in terms of psychology.)

Secondly, I don't have the medical expertise, experience or data to evaluate the pros and cons for what is "harmful" treatment to any given patient with gender dysphoria is at any given stage of development, much less for a child that's not mine.  And neither do you.

Therefore, I will trust experts in the field - along with the child's parents and professional associations - to determine what is the best treatment for a given child at any given age, as well as setting general ethical and medical standards for treatment at any given age.

This is what Rachel Levine believes gender affirming care is:

"The standards of care include a psychological evaluation and, if necessary, treatment and support for the young person and their family," Levine said. "It involves a medical evaluation and then considerations of medical treatment. And so, there's a guide — a standard of care — of how that medical treatment would go."

For a child who hasn't started puberty yet, "there's no medical treatment," Levine said. At that point, care would focus on counseling and taking in the considerations of the young person, their family and their school.

"At the beginning of puberty, there's a protocol of using what are called pubertal blockers," she explained. "These are medicines that are used for other conditions that can block the progression of puberty so the young person doesn't go through the wrong puberty, which can lead to lots of different psychological and physical challenges later on."

When everyone is "on board," including the therapist, the parents, and the young person, "then you can start cross-gender hormone therapy to essentially put the young person through the puberty that's consistent with their gender identity," Levine said.

This is word salad to try to justify surgically changing one’s appearance to conform to what is consistent with your *gender identity*.  You say the term minor is irrelevant, no it is not.  Legally it defines who is and is not capable of making decisions about medical care.

The problem is the *experts in the field* are a bias as Rachel Lavine.

Well, no doubt that is a problem for you.

You've obviously got "issues", with Rachel Levine - if not all trans people. I guess you would just as soon they commit suicide.

I don’t have issues with all trans people.  I do have issues with the protocol of transing minors and trans people that want to justify their existence by pushing their agenda on minors.

The suicide argument is emotional blackmail.  Why have we not seen overwhelming suicides in the 50’s and 60’s from gender dysphoric minors?

The average Republican primary voter is no longer passionate about mainstream ideas like tax breaks as economic policy, or stable wages and jobs... it's stuff like this. Which is how crazy people win so many primaries and end up losing general elections.

The average, sane citizen just wants peace and sanity. Not this silly culture war crap.

What a take.  Why did Glenn Youngkin win in Virginia?  Did it have anything to do with what happened in Loudoun Co. schools?  Where the parents feed up with with the culture war crap that the Democrats (extreme leftist ideology) has promoted for years?

DeSantis just brought the Disney Corporation to their needs.  Why do you think that was?  If is was just isolated to the Republicans, Disney would not have lost half of the net worth in a little over a year.

You’re right the culture war is crap, it just took the Republicans too long to do something about it.

As asked in another thread, were you more upset that Freeze cheated on his wife and bought hookers (which only affected his immediate family and his school) or the fact that children (which affects everyone that goes to public school) are being taught gender identity starting at 5 yo?

Yeah, Dems misplayed the messaging in Virginia IMO. But Disney's woes has nothing to do with DeSantis and Republicans. DeSantis didn't even DO anything except blast Disney in a few press releases and threatened to take away a special tax status that he legally probably cant do.  Like most entertainment/internet companies, Disneys net worth sored to new heights during the pandemic lockdowns and then went back down to normal after things opened up.

Disney suffered some growth loss in it's Disney+ business but it's theme parks and movie division revenue is is fine and continuing to grow.

Some growth loss?????  It was about 50% and their latest woke adventure netted something like 18.6 MM at the box office in 4 days and it was supposed to be twice that.    That woke mess cost 180 MM to make.

Iger is back as their CEO and is trying to right the ship.  You can’t spin the failure Disney has been in the last couple of years.
