How Big Tech took over the Democrats

It has been over a decade since Joel Kotkin identified just how much the Democratic Party had changed during the Obama era. By 2012, the Democrats had become an alliance of tech elites and finance, he wrote. The party came to represent both Google and Goldman Sachs.

That the Democratic Party now takes its cues from the tech elite has created a broader political problem. Silicon Valley’s concerns are wholly at odds with those of ordinary working-class and middle-class Americans. Giant tech platforms like Amazon and Google create the illusion of competition, while exploiting their unique monopoly of information to manipulate both supply and demand. The tech elite’s obsession with climate change has led to exorbitant energy prices that destroy ordinary people’s jobs. Big Tech’s monopolization of the economy and politics ought to be fertile ground for a populist pushback. Indeed, this is exactly the kind of set-up the Democratic Party would have opposed in the 20th century. Today’s Democrats seem incapable of doing so.

You are the biggest fraud on the forum. No doubt you'd defend the indefensible.

As much as he/she gripes about corruption it would seem they would be all over this one.

Thus the fraud nomenclature. It is indeed a sad truth.

Interesting that those articles don't mentioned that FTX's Co-CEO and SBF's right hand man, Ryan Salame, donated close to $20 million in political donations ALL to Republicans. The FTX co-executive was the 10th highest Republican donor in this last political cycle.

Almost like FTX was playing both sides of the aisle. I wonder why the Free-Beacon doesn't point that out? Weird.

Find an article from the publication of your choice that discusses Salame's culpability in the FTX debacle and let's discuss. Not complicated.

Interestingly, SBF says he gave equal amounts of donations to both Democrats and Republicans, but he donated to Republicans through hidden 'dark money' donors because he believed he would be attacked by media and others for openly donating to Republicans.

As the old saying goes, Show me the money. I'll wait.

ALL large donors are corrupt.  Our government is for sale.  Therefore, our government is corrupt.

Only one party is willing to address the issues of campaign finance, lobbying, dark money.
