He’s had multiple chances. His last “mistake” was within the last year when he harassed a sexual assault victim.  I thought the same thing until I dig deeper. But he’s a trash person that refuses to change his ways.

I just see no positives here. This was absolutely the hire I feared most and if this is true, what do you think is going to happen if we turn in a 6-6, 7-5 type season? Do you think Freeze will get the patience a more attractive hire would have? If so, again, I admire your optimism.

That would be different and it's kind of the point. This isn't - for many of us - some moral objection alone. It's PR. The threads on this board right now are only a microcosm of the full Auburn fan reaction is Freeze is hired. So we have a split fanbase from the start, with an awful roster going into 2023 after a lot of empty talk about "alignment". Excitement is muted, Auburn is a national punchline. 

If he had gone to bama, that PR hit had already happened, he showed what he could do and had stayed out of trouble at a P5 school, then the immediate negativity doesn't exist as much. But he's coming into a program still in a major hangover from negative press that's about to endure ANOTHER firestorm of it if it hires Freeze. It's just a stupid, stupid move that's beyond football and moral squeamishness alone.

Of course not, but how good a recruiter is the guy without buying players to the point the NCAA actually busted him? I don't think anyone has that answer and we need recruiting about as bad as anything... especially given the negativity already surrounding this guy.

No matter what coach is selected there would have been difference of opinion. The most United the fan base has been in awhile has been Caddy as interim . Negativity is negativity. Based on what u saying CBP shouldn’t be Auburn’s coach then. He he a recent mishap. Served a suspension and had to miss the post season and nobody cares. Auburn was ranked #1 for a while last year and had two high picks

Freeze didn't straighten up at Liberty. If anything he got worse.

Agreed. Auburn is never going to be a perennial contender a la Ga, Bama, OSU etc. AU will continue to sneak a good year in every two or three and maybe one great one every 10. That’s just how it is. Always has been. I mean even with Mark Richt, wasn’t GA winning 10 games quite a bit.

Why would I need to find another university? I love AU and will continue to be active in CBB, MBB and other AU athletics. We have so much going for us. Our awesome fans showing out big time vs A&M with a 3-win team (at the time) only amplified the positivity that a new coach could inherit. IMO Freeze shouldn’t be the face of AU Football, for a variety of reasons. Throw out the prostitutes and other scandals, look at what just the strong possibility that he’s our next coach has done to the AU family/fan base on the day of the Iron Bowl
