This HS class also started us on the road to having an O-Line in the future including a JUCO OT who might be a starter as OT or OG. Going into Portal a plethora of needs. WR - Need 1 got one. LB - Need 1 got one. DT - need 2 got 2. OT - Need 2 got 2. RB - Need 1 got 1. TE - Need 1 got 1. Edge - Need 2 got 1 so far. If Powell can put on some weight and keep his quickness they might move him to Edge. IOL - Need 2 - Just got Center Flip from Illinois . - We really need to pull in Micah Mazzcua tomorrow when he announces. QB - Need 1 - None so far. To be honest this is beyond my highest expectations and it might not be done. Between HS and Portal so far we have picked up 31 players. Above when I said how many we need at each position that doesn't mean that is the limit of our needs but is what I think we need to be competitive in every game. AU wants him badly Yeah, I figured it would be an uphill battle with his brother being there. I didn’t know he also had a previous relationship with Rhule. AuburnNTexas 7,133 Posted January 10, 2023 Share Posted January 10, 2023 The Avery Jones pickup is big prior to this pickup we needed 1-2 IOl, 1 Edge, and 1 QB all other critical needs had been met. We now have the 1 IOL who is an experienced starting Center which is key for an O-line. He is also SEC sized at 6'4" 305 pounds which is a solid size for a Center. Another IOL would be nice but is not critical we should be able to field a better O-Line then last years O-line with the additions and we probably can piece together 3 or 4 backup players who could come in if we have an injury. We still have some time to find an Edge, QB and maybe another IOL. Michah Mazzccua is decidng tonight and from what most think he will go to Nebraska but we can hope also I have not heard if Damieon George is still available as he would be a great IOL for Auburn even though he is listed as an OT he played both at bama. Tobechi Okoli has the physical ability to be an very good Edge but when we signed him he was new to football. He might be a solid option on the Edge. He is 6'5" 255 pounds and a very good athlete.
