I think he wants a portal QB badly, but it has to be the right one. MCCall for example would be our starting QB if he made his grades. I think RA has so much to fix in one offseason- accuracy (never been accurate), footwork, throwing motion (at times he throws it like a baseball) and holding on to the ball (turnovers). He is dead last in QBR by a lot. The positives are that he is athletic and has a strong arm. He also wants to learn and is not a quitter. People want to make him out to be M Willis. M Willis was always more accurate, even in HS. You have to be able to hit your targets. Can you fix a QB that has never been accurate? It seems he has interest in us but we are not feeling the same way. It will be interesting to see how he plays in the future. I know everyone probably cheats with 3rd party conversations before guys enter portal. Rumors are supposed to be taboo I guess official or unofficial. So if they don't have Intel on another target, not pushing for one of those 2 would be criminal. So giving HF the benefit of the doubt until we walk into the spring with Ashford and Geriner before I panic. If our staff cannot sign one and cannot make enough progress with RA or HG in the spring, it will be critical to land a huge upgrade with a short time to get there, in order to keep a happy fan base going into the fall. They've done a great job so far, but the key piece of the puzzle is still unsolved. But they still have the benefit of the doubt with me. McCall is the biggest loss by leaps and bounds at this point. You add all of the pieces that we have added plus him at quarterback and we are actually going to be very competitive next year. So I wonder if could we land our man Grayson McCall the second time around. Is it possible he takes the right courses and makes the right grades to reenter the portal and enroll this summer at the Plains? He might be a better option than anyone else coming out late. Anyone? @autan He probably needs to graduate so he can be a grad transfer for most if not all schools to be able to take him as others have discussed. If he passed on a solid option in Sanders and is just hoping something better comes along and we end up with RA as our best option next year, it may not be Harsin dumb, but it's pretty close.
