SLAG-91 1,465
The thread title is more of a conclusion, and the article below is a long one. https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/arts-letters/articles/takeover-russell-jacoby The author of the article is a professor emeritus in the history department at UCLA. He acknowledges the composition of university faculties becoming much more left-leaning from the 60s onward, because that was a way to make a living, and with the boom in college growth for about 25-30 years, they pretty much stayed on campus, basically serving as their own farm system. Cut to the 90s-00s, and the positions for placing students in these left-leaning disciplines drying up (author mentions not being able to place students), so there was no faculty position for them to go to...hence, they filter into society and bring their turgid language with them. Anyway, the article outlines the progression ("progress" being like slipping into quicksand, imo) pretty well, I think. 1 1

homersapien 11,270
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tablet_(magazine) "On September 29, 2022, the Association for Jewish Studies (AJS) "paused" a relationship with Tablet which had enabled the magazine to place advertisements through AJS. The pause came in response to complaints by AJS members about the content published by Tablet; Jewish Currents reported that the critiques centered around articles published in Tablet within the past 5 years. Progressive magazine Jewish Currents also noted in an email newsletter that several Tablet contributors are Trump supporters and asserted that "much of the magazine’s content is focused on decrying liberal 'wokeness'", arguing that while Tablet initially "gained a reputation for publishing high-quality arts and culture content", a conservative editorial line became more pronounced during the presidency of Donald Trump.[15]"

The man primarily responsible for extreme deficit spending, handing over the government to the capital class, fueling inequality. A decent man who was manipulated by power he naively believed in. Go ahead and lock it, sheriff. Yep, waiting on Coffee for the grand slam. Self-righteous professors have spawned self-righteous students and unleashed them into the public square Justifications for liberal desiderata, however, almost immunize themselves to objections. If you question diversity mania, you support Western imperialism. Wonder about the significance of microaggression? You are a microaggressor. Have doubts about an eternal, all-inclusive white supremacy? You benefit from white privilege. Skeptical about new pronouns? You abet the suicide of fragile adolescents. 1
