There is some truth (not a totality, certainly) to that statement.  Students from impoverished areas who are lucky enough to be zoned into schools in more affluent areas do show higher achievement.

However, that is merely a statistic.  Without analysis, it is meaningless.  The ignorant and disingenuous never talk about the analysis.  Poverty itself is the barrier.

There is no reason for poverty to be growing in this country,,, except for greed.

So how do we work on the root causes of greed? All sorts of people are greedy. Rich, poor, educated, uneducated, religious, non religious. How do we solve a problem that is maybe human nature and existed since creation?

Now Homer, your liberal white guilt is showing again.

Maybe I need to move to Florida where your man DeSantis is protecting white people from such horror.

Lots of folks moving there. Something is right.

Here are the top states people are moving to:

  • Florida
  • Texas
  • Arizona
  • North Carolina
  • South Carolina

We also found that:

  • Americans are leaving the Northeast and heading to the South
  • Florida is the most popular destination for cross-country movers
  • Californians are headed to Arizona and Texas

Not sure of your point.

You're not suggesting that's because of - or in spite of - racist governors are you?

Did you even listen to the video?

He said, “if you try to shoe horn in queer theory into Black History, that’s not history, it’s indoctrination”.

Do better.

How is it indoctrination, indoctrination of what, black gays exist?

What is "queer theory"?

I'd have to look at the original source before I could possibly make a conclusion regarding the unacceptability of this course.  All this is second hand opinion.

By the time 2024 comes around you guys will be wearing hoods.

Keep it up, it's better for all when you're upfront about it.

I guess you will be wearing the hammer, sicle and red star on your clothes. You don’t need to do so, we know where you stand, and it’s not with America.

That's funny. I am the ultimate capitalist.  Every penny I have comes from my earnings plus financial investments made from those earnings.

So you know s***.

(And it's sickle,  not "sicle".  Apparently, you're no more literate than your average racist.)

If so, what goods and services did you produce?

I first worked in applied research and sales support and then in new business development, often with biotech start ups.

You?

Maybe a part of it. Personally I like 4 seasons.

Me too.  That's one reason I much prefer South Carolina to Florida. (Well, that and mountains.)

I have repeatedly said that I agree with you that we need better teachers. Not sure how you are just now realizing that?

As for mentioning Democrats, I could care less if the OP did or did not. Imo this isnt a partisan issue. To solve the education problem, it will take more than just better teachers. Obviously that will help, but it wont cure all of the problems

:dunno:

Well we agree it shouldn't be partisan.

Still hung up on and arguing with yourself on teachers I see. The big picture should be educating our children not making excuses.
