Fwiw vomiting while working out means you didnt time your ingestion & planned workout correctly. Nothing more. It's a trendy thing to do amongst teen boys but that's about it.

Also didn't eat right, non sustaining foods. Blood sugar drops like a mother trucker during those workouts. I wonder how many of these individuals were diabetes type 2. We had kids throw up on my junior high football team during sprints. I was like man I'm dying of thirst and need oxygen, why the heck are you vomiting?

THIS!! Tired of hearing it. Show it. Well said, DAG

Yep, Harsin said it and so did GM. Maybe the guys going through it just weren’t what AU needed. AU has been dominated on the lines for the last 4 years or so. Hopefully HF and staff are changing that narrative. I live 45 minutes from ATL. The HC is a run first guy, mainly because he had D. Henry at Tenn Titans. He’s brought that mentality to ATL and due to ZERO cap space his first two years managed to keep them competitive. 14/20 is nothing great, but ATL was like 5th in rushing in NFL this year, with the same damn O Line. It’s about teaching. I believe HF will be one of the better teachers we have had at AU in years. I do still believe we need another QB, but I also wouldn’t be shocked to see Hank Brown or Geriner, win the starting job this year. Accuracy is better than athleticism when you have a line that can block for longer than 2 seconds, but we could also use another WR to stretch the field.

The thread title sounds like an advertisement for Viagra.  I bet @augolf will be really disappointed when he sees the actual content.

Were the workouts longer than 4 hours?

We heard about tough workouts with Harsin. Difference is that the talent that is doing the workouts is much, much improved.

May I also add that Harsin was much more interested in completing the workouts himself than just about anything else.

we may have messed around and gotten us a great coach.

This is the one here…there will be better players doing the workouts….

The whole Harsin is bonding with the players working out was actually an egomaniac wanting a pic to put on instagram. I dont expect to see a picture of Hugh in a sleveless hoodie showing off his muscles. I was pumped to get Freeze and Im even more excited today.

Auburn player: 'Workouts are 1000% harder than last year'

Auburn is being pushed more than they were a year ago.
ZAC BLACKERBY

Hugh Freeze has taken over as Auburn's head coach and has changed just about everything. So far, it looks like everything is working out for the better.

I spoke with an Auburn starter about what the new workouts have looked like and what some of the changes have looked like.

The player I spoke to said, "The workouts are 1000% harder than the last coaching staff."

He also added that previous staff's workouts had gotten stale and that this change was needed. There's more energy when it comes to growing and improving in the offseason.

The player said that I could share the conversation but asked me to not use his name.

Auburn hired Hugh Freeze on November 28th. Since then, he helped lead Auburn's recruiting efforts to allow Auburn to finish as a top 20 class in the 2023 rankings, including the flip of 5-star Keldric Faulk from Florida State. Freeze also was able to add 12 players to Auburn's roster via the transfer portal.

Auburn will play in the annual A-Day game on April 8th in Jordan Hare Stadium.

Probably true, but we seem to hear this after every coaching change.

Don’t know that it’s true. Every August we hear people say they can never recall it being so hot……they simply forgot how hot it was the previous August.

can’t tell if you’re serious…

You're one of the best posters on here and I trust your opinion. More people should have listened to you earlier about Harsin.

Which is why I want to ask why you think it's obvious the roster is much improved?

I'd say the OL is better, which is very important.

Secondary, WR, TE, LB and QB are all about the same. Could go up or down, depending on if anyone can have a breakout season. I expect Freeze to add a QB, but he hasn't yet.

RB is worse, IMO. I don't like Battie, Alston, or Cobb (if we get him) more than Tank. I could be wrong about this group as a whole, but Tank is more talented than anyone we added.

DL is much worse. We have no one on the roster like Hall or Wooden. Leota leaving also hurts. We have nothing at edge, which is a huge problem.

Freeze added some nice pieces from the portal, but we also lost our three best playmakers.

I can see every position group looking better because Freeze is obviously a better coach than Harsin. But as far as talent goes, I don't see a huge jump yet.

Yes I'm serious. What players came in this year to make it more talented. I'm guessing the o line is what you are talking about?

I could've swore that you argued with me for saying the team wasn't that talented last year. I could be wrong but I thought it was you. Imo there's like 4 or 5 people on here you can't disagree with without everybody getting mad at you. If it wasn't you then maybe it was stat or somebody like that.

But yes I feel of course we have to and will eventually get better but I don't think this team is super talented so I wanted to know where you feel like we are

Yep, I work out 5 days a week and it seems like whenever I try something new it just kicks my butt.   The muscles remember workouts.   So whenever you change things around it takes the muscles time to adjust.

Offense we lost tank & added a good bit, probably aren't down yet.  I'd say over all up.

Easily the OL as you mentioned, so that's 3 or 4 of the 5 spots on the OL.
I think we're probably more talented at TE and might have a more dynamic TE we haven't had in a while.
WR is probably a push, added a guy but he's never really done much.
QB is obviously a push, hope this changes during the May window unless magic happens during the spring.
RB I think we've downgraded.  I like Hunter, but ppl over value him & drastically under value Tank

Defense we lost 4 guys that'll get drafted and 3 especially will be difficult to replace (Hall, Leota, Wooden).  Probably say we're down slightly more here than we were up on offense

DL - I think we'll have more depth this year than last with another nose and the DT from Maryland (if healthy) is a really good player.  Added numbers, but losing Wooden hurts
Edge - Biggest miss and probably the biggest drop off of any position group.  Hall & Leota are big losses and we didn't add any SEC contributors.  10 arrows down here
LB - I think we got better with Tolan/Keys addition vs losing only OP.
DB - Push.  CBs will be really solid if they aren't covering for an eternity b/c our pass rush is non existent.

I don't think we made the talent leap a lot of people think, especially when you go position by position.  Hugh did a great job in the portal, but we also lost some key talented players.

Really need a QB and an edge rusher in may.  The later is probably more of a pipe dream solely b/c teams can get creative and play more than one edge at a time.

Funny thing is, after Gus was fired and Harsin arrived, Auburn players were going on about how much harder S&C workouts were under Harsin, and Harsin was going on about how Auburn would be bigger, stronger, more fit than opponents.

So now, 1,000% tougher than Harsin ..... wow, that's really .... okay .... haha

What I want to hear from players is that they are being physically challenged more than they ever have in the past.

But in the end, I want to see the results on the field. Not just physical. But mental toughness, resolve, dedication, commitment, refusal to give up.

Posing with a big muscle is irrelevant. Dominating your opponent on the field is the goal. Let's hope the new S&C program helps Freeze and his staff get us there.
