LINK Friday, January 05, 2007 God is Good, Nick is Great, I Just Blew a .08 Sometimes the Comedy Gods just tee it up. Case in point: MZone reader JR sent us the following that had us howling. First, check out this picture... It's from the online edition of Alabama's TimesDaily and the caption read: University of Alabama head coach Nick $aban receives a kiss from Colette Connell of Tuscaloosa as he is mobbed by Alabama fans at the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport Wednesday. Colette Connell. Remeber that name. Because she was also mentioned in this Tuscaloosa News article the same day reporting on $aban's arrival: Colette Connell, one of the more exuberant fans at the airport, even had her own $aban cheer: “Praise the Lord, God is so good, Nick is now in the Bama hood." Later that day, Connell was arrested for driving under the influence. Hopefully God is good enough to recommend a good lawyer. Also, we here at the MZone would like to praise the Lord for making blogging so easy with stories like this. P.S. I wonder if Nick could smell the alcohol on her breath in the picture above. I am a pretty bright guy, I like to think. But you could never invent stuff this embarassing to the UAT family. A slobbering drunk woman invoking the name of God about a football coach 3:30PM and then immediately gets arrested for DUI. Yeah, typical bama fan....
