• Fanned 12 Mississippi State batters in 7.0 innings as Auburn claimed a series-opening win over MSU. He became the first AU hurler to fan 12-or-more in a single game since Eric Brandon did it in a perfect game over Murray State in 2002 and the first to do it in a league game since Chris Bootcheck K'd 12 in a 2-1 complete game loss to South Carolina in 1999.
  
• Dayton is now 7-1 on the year, with six of those wins coming in SEC play … The last Tiger pitcher to earn six SEC wins was Hayden Gliemmo in 1998 (6-2).
