I can't imagine any coach would rather coach in college if there's an NBA job already there for him. Coaching in college is a total ****show right now

These are flagrant 2s A simple elbow to the chest happens all the time. Could CBM have been smoother with it and done something more incognito while he was on an island right in front of the ref? Without a doubt. The wind up also hurt his case. But these plays above are worth ejections. An elbow to the chest is an easy flagrant 1 and keep it moving. He should have not done that AND the ref blew the call. Both things can be right but the ref is the adult in the room and overreacted BASED ON LITERALLY EVERY OTHER BASKETBALL GAME PLAYED IN HISTORY

Alot of people are glossing past how valuable what CBM does for us in his instigator role. If the ref calls it a flagrant 1 like it should have been nobody is piling on the kid. It was a perfect storm that killed us. He does what Patrick Beverly, Dillon Brooks, etc those types of guys do and get paid really well to do. There is a place for that on good teams. You think we go on our run in 2019 without Malik Dunbar being involved in every dust up? Or being the guy going chest to chest with somebody on the other team when things get physical with a teammate? CBM may have gotten techs but you guys are forgetting how some of those techs have sparked the team to go on runs and be a wakeup call for the team etc. The basketball gods were against us on Friday, it's just the way March goes sometimes. It sucks but one game is just one game. Yes, March defines the season but we don't come in 2nd during the marathon of the SEC season or the SEC Tournament Championship without CBM being CBM - in all facets. This is going to be a major learning moment for him and he will bounce back after what will be a rough off season for him personally. Samir Doughty avenged his foul on the UVA 3 point shooter in the Final Four by turning in a First-Team All SEC season the next year, and was poised to lead us through a deep run if Covid didn't hit. I'm expecting CBM to have the same type of fire lit under him.

Also, blaming CBM for the loss is really dumb. Did it hurt us? Absolutely. But bottom line is we should still be able to beat Yale a man down. But such is March Madness....

That play was tough to watch. For a kid who struggles at the rim for him to pass on an easy layup to try a more difficult one was a key mistake in a game where each possession really mattered. Major freshman blunder there

Honestly I can't pull for a team who's main defensive strategy is to draw charges. It'll be a matter of time before the new rules cost him his job like the CFB rules neutered Malzahn Fully away they're one win away from Buzz guaranteeing himself like 5 more years in College Station lmao Also, cannot pull for any SEC teams whatsoever. They are our competition and any success they have stands in our way of obtaining better personnel - - particularly in the back court

You actually quite literally get a trophy for coming in 4th and winning your region. --- Guys, getting to the Sweet 16 is not easy. It should be our goal for what amounts to a GREAT season. We were an experienced PG away from that being our ceiling, we were a very good team that had a very good year. We are hanging a banner. That at a minimum dictates we had a very good season. That said this one is gonna hurt for a while. And honestly, I'm more hurt for the kids on the team than anything. Gonna miss Broome he really kept our program afloat these last 2 years. Imagine if he got to play with an actual PG who forced defenses to account for them. Jaylin Williams had too good of a season for his career to end like that. I know Tre will be thinking about those FTs for the rest of his life unless he can avenge them in a big moment next year. But in March your guards need to be able to take over in big moments. Our back court had ZERO reps doing this during the season - - we had no close games they had to navigate us through. That is huge for a guys development. And CBM being ejected was trash. His type of energy has a place on good teams and was a part of why we had a successful regular season. But you don't eject a kid in a game like that unless they're FIGHTING or something. We have seen guys not been ejected for way worse. I have more thoughts I'll probably share later as I try to wrap my head around this tough loss smh
