  1. I don’t think they should play the 2nd half. We’ve all seen enough at this point. No reason to subject anyone to more of this. Call it a tie and give everyone orange slices for the effort.
  2. What was Thorne seeing there? He had a wide open crossing route for the first down and just chucks it into double coverage.
  3. McGill Toolen was out back practicing at around 7:30 last night (trying to avoid the hottest of the weather) and my South Alabama season tickets arrived. So that has to mean football is almost here!
  4. I was about to post something optimistic and then read this...man it is bleak. Even pulling in a bunch of transfers and JUCO players it's going to be tough to compete with no O or D line.
  5. True. I'll admit I was only thinking of his development as a coach and not the personal side of his situation. I think we are probably all guilty of looking at the coaches and players as just parts of the machine and forgetting that they are real people with real families.
  6. Sure. But it is all here at Auburn. There is something to be said for traveling the world, broadening your horizons (in football terms, I’m not suggesting he go backpacking across Europe) and developing connections in other parts of the country.
  7. First off: I want him to stay. I love what he did over the last four games and the players obviously love and respond to him. I would love it if in six years he becomes our Nick Saban and coaches at Auburn for the rest of his life. But that’s where my question comes from: if I envision a future where Caddy is the head coach is it better for him to go somewhere else, coach under some different systems, see what he can learn from them, see what works and what doesn’t, etc? Or can he do that just as effectively under Freeze? Just something I’ve been mulling even before Freeze was hired and wondered what others thought.
  8. If we’re throwing out random names, then how about Kane Wommack, current HC at South Alabama.
  9. There’s like 35 bowl games. Somebody has to play in them.
  10. You know the SEC wants Auburn bowl eligible so the conference gets that sweet, sweet $$$$. The refs may actually be on our side for this one.
  11. Yeah that’s really odd to go into the tent for what looks like a wrist issue and come out fully stabilized on a stretcher. I assume the pain in his hand was actually the result of something in his neck?
  12. Has any team in history allowed more third and long conversions than this Auburn D? I would actually prefer the opponent have 3rd and 5 than 3rd and 18.
  13. I wish they had a camera just on Caddy the whole game. He may be exerting more energy as a coach than he did as a player. He’s gonna be sore in the morning!
  14. I just got off the phone with a longtime friend who is a lifelong Bama fan (and alum). His daughter is in her freshman year at Auburn and he has begrudgingly begun rooting for Auburn when they are not playing Bama. He said if we hire Sanders he is going all in on Auburn. Orange and blue everything. His comment was that he doesn't know if Deion is a good football coach, but Deion knows who the good football coaches are and can bring them in to handle that while he visits every high school in the states of Alabama, Georgia and Florida and racks up recruits.
