  1. The truth is there was probably not much to check out. At a certain level of decline you’re basically down to transplant or something like an LVAD, which while being used more extensively these days is not supposed to be a long term solution. Patients with this condition spend the rest of their lives at that level of coughing. I highly doubt Leach and his family were unaware of the extent of his heart failure. He was probably just trying to maintain as stable as possible. Probably hoped to get through the last season. It’s a very tough way to live. Hopefully he has some peace now and I wish his family the best if he ultimately doesn’t make it through this.
  2. I still support Auburn. I don't support this hire, and I won't financially contribute to football while he's there. I graduated from the school and I've loved it for the vast majority of my life.
  3. Was I discourteous in my response? Was I grumpy? I think your parallels are in and of themselves sort of ridiculous on their face. I say that with all the courtesy I have. Nobody has argued for or against Freeze as a Christian or atheist, a republican/democrat, his skin color, or what brand of soda he likes. The objections to him have been for his actions and the myriad of things that follow him to where he is at this moment in his life. For many fans, he rises to the level that they don't want him representing their school and leading young men. Which is their right as much as you have your right to support him and disagree. I have said repeatedly that personally, I won't support the hire. If Auburn hires him, that's for me to follow through on. I'm not going to s*** on you if you decide to support him.
  4. Wait...are you equating being gay, non-white, or non-religious as morally objectionable to the level of ... *checks notes*... infidelity, violating recruiting rules, and contacting sexual assault accusers in a way that could and has been interpreted as using their power for intimidation? Because Auburn University is not a religious institution. It's a secular one. If you want to get into the "morals are subjective and therefore slippery" argument then I guess go ahead. But it's quite silly to go the route you're going with this. Many fans can and do look at this from the reasonable level and say that he has enough accusations against him of things that, regardless of your belief system, are morally dubious enough to warrant going in another direction.
  5. Has lanning been there long enough to say that? Norvell won 4 games his first two seasons, everyone wrote him off and put him on the hot seat, and he sort of turned it around this year.
  6. I suppose you think Dr. Death wasn’t a problem because the hospitals decided to just fire him and the medical boards ignored the warnings to keep egg off their faces? Baylor and Briles were both a s*** show handling that investigation and trying to minimize the fallout. I certainly don’t think you look at those reports and say gee whiz he was an upstanding dude. Hell, he has the Freeze victim blaming down when the woman accused his players of gang rape and his response was to ask why she was hanging around bad dudes.
  7. Penn State has a habit of that it seems.
  8. I mean I just think it’s kinda funny you guys are falling over yourselves to justify hiring a man who has had allegations of wrongdoing or impropriety at pretty much every stop. Why? Forgiveness this or forgiveness that. Who cares. Why are you struggling to hire him? Is winning football worth that to you? The risks aren’t necessary there are other people to hire if we weren’t crap at it.
  9. Caddy actually has some staff showing improvements. Our play calling hasn’t been terrible the last 4 games. Idk what player development would look like but he would potentially only need to replace those who left if the remaining wanted to stay. If friend moved to OC since I guess he’s the play caller then we could hire a decent OL coach. Highly unlikely but possible.
  10. You guys don’t seem to understand that a moral opposition to a crap person doesn’t just dissolve because you’re offered a crap alternative. That’s like being offered Kanye or Desantis instead of Trump.
  11. I like Dave clawson at wake forest but idk how he’d translate. Been a winner.
  12. I don’t know much about him overall but I’ve gotten the vibe that Bama fans want him gone. Which doesn’t necessarily mean much as there were OSU fans calling for Ryan Day’s head last night too so fans maybe not the best judges all the time.
