  1. Here's my take on this situation, and I have no evidence or anything of that nature to prove it, just my thoughts: If I recall correctly, when Freeze announced the elevation of King-Williams (or Williams-King, I cannot remember the exact order of that last name), this Coleman kid was very happy about this and said that he was going to stick with his commitment to Auburn. He takes his recruiting trip to T-Town and suddenly he feels that Freddie Roach is the one who can help him elevate his game. Excuse me, but wasn't Roach on the Bama staff when the kid flipped from Bama to Auburn? So, now Roach is the one who's going to elevate his game? IMHO, Bama threw some big-time NIL money at this kid. Did Garret leaving hurt? Maybe. However, I am not in the know on how many pro teams have been after Freddie Roach. Since most assistant coaches want an elevation to at least a coordinator position or to the pros, why is Roach still at Bama? And, if Roach is approached and takes a pro position, or a DC at another school, will Coleman hit the portal? I think NIL played a bigger role in this than what will ever be known. But, as I stated, this is my view and only my view on this flip.

  2. My fear is regardless of what the outcome is, the damage has been done. What 4 or 5 star recruits are going to want to come to AU now? If Harsin is still the coach, the feeling is that the other shoe just may drop any minute. What decent to good potential head coach is going to want to come to AU if Harsin is fired? What if Harsin is cleared, but decides to say "**** you, Auburn," and packs his bags and leaves on his own? This has become more than a sh*t show, and I am afraid AU will pay the price for for a long, long time.

  3. I hope Bo gets what he wants, wherever he goes. I am beginning to think that there may have been some agreement between Gus and Pat Nix that Bo was going to be the starter when he stepped foot on campus, regardless. Gus never really went after another QB of note to either take the reins of the offense or at least give Bo some challenge so that he would actually get better (I don't think anyone seriously thinks the Loy kid was going to be the one to press Bo to get better). Harsin comes in and goes after TJ Finley, whether he thought TJ would be a good starter or at least push Bo to get better. I'll admit that Bo had some good moments, but he also had some bad moments, too many to really count here.

As for Tank, I'm sorry he's leaving, but if he has become a distraction with his attitude, he will be better off somewhere else. Yes, he should have gotten the ball at 4th and 1 against USCe, but to sit on the bench and pout about it was pure BS on his part. From what I understand, that was a read-option and TJ picked the wrong option. Besides, Tank, you've made a couple of bad decisions on the field yourself, such as going out of bounds against Bama, and stopping the clock. Oh well, best of luck to the 2 of you, and thanks for what you did for Auburn.

  4. Well, I know I'm going to catch a lot of flak from some of you on here, but here's my feelings about this situation: I'm pissed about this. If this kid ends up at Kentucky, especially since UK didn't even recruit this kid when he was in high school, that to me is just a total slap in Bruce Pearl's and the program's face. If it is true that daddy Powell went to AU to get his baby boy and wouldn't even talk with the coaches, that sucks even more.

OK--let me have it. i'm a big boy and I have my big boy pants on.

Sorry, I’m not buying it! YES, Auburn fans absolutely need to be worried if we can’t even land a 5 star DE in our own backyard that grew up an Auburn fan. Why would we assume that we can land these other two prospects when we can’t even land a guy with such strong ties to Auburn?

I love Keith, but he and everyone else needs to stop distracting from the fact that this is a HUGE miss. We didn’t even lose this guy to Alabama. We didn’t even lose this guy to Clemson, UGA, or LSU. We let frickin Tennessee beat us for a guy that should have been a lock to Auburn!

It absolutely blows my mind that someone like Pruitt can out recruit Malzahn when Gus has accomplished far more. Has Pruitt beat Saban? Has Pruitt beat Smart? Has Pruitt been to Atlanta? Has Pruitt played for a national championship? Absolutely not! Gus has the advantage! Rodney Garner should never lose a recruit like this with his track record of putting guys in the league. This is inexcusable.

Has Pruitt beat Saban or Smart? No, but he did beat Malzahn, with one of worst TN teams in modern college football.
