  1. I think we all need to accept that this is just who CHF is. Remember when he was at Ole Miss? He beat two of the best Bama teams of all time, have the team highly ranked, then go get thumped by an unranked team he had no business losing to. As much as I hate it, I don't think we'll be seeing anything different during his tenure here. Watch us go out and beat Bama next week, then lose a bowl game to Valley High.
  2. Hell of a way to start the Prime era
  3. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: We're gonna kick ourselves for not even caring to look at Deion in our quest for the next Pat Dye.
  4. People said (on this board) the same thing all the time about Saban not caring about Bama. I’ve predicted that Prime will be competing for championships in the near future, and we’ll be kicking ourselves for not hiring him as we watch our old, out of touch boosters hunt for the next incarnation of Pat Dye. I stand by all that. If I’m wrong, I’ll be happy to admit it. If I’m right, well, buy me a Toomer’s Lemonade.
  5. They’re already hyping it up, saying, “Alabama is who Georgia doesn’t want to face!”
  6. Of course they checked all the boxes
  7. He will compete for natties in the near future and we will kick ourselves for not hiring him.
  8. Bama isn’t what they used to be, so them squeaking into the playoffs now is even more infuriating than it was in 2011 and 2017. They may have lost their two games by 4 total points, but they also nearly lost to Texas, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss. They’ve been far from impressive or dominant. Regardless of the record, they’re not a top 4 team.
  9. This is like keeping Jay Jacobs and Malzahn, but with extra steps and baggage.
  10. Agreed. I would welcome him over most of the other candidates that have been suggested, but there’s some people in our fan base who probably still hold grudges toward their grandma for making an unwelcome modification to their favorite sweet potato casserole when they were in fifth grade.
  11. The fanbase would lose their minds because of the Cam Newton stuff.
  12. Forgive my pessimism, but this is about the 10th time I’ve experienced internet pandemonium surrounding the hiring of an Auburn HC or coordinator, and I can count on one finger all the times it’s been a splash hire and not a letdown (Muschamp). I hope this time is different, but historical trends suggest our power brokers will give us another pitiful attempt at resurrecting Pat Dye, only to have us going through internet pandemonium again in a few years.
  13. Deion is the obviously best choice, but I don’t think the boosters want to go that route. He’s too unorthodox from what they like. They want another Pat Dye, but that’s not what we need in this era of Auburn football.
  14. It is a meh hire. The hooker stuff would be far less of a concern if he was more qualified, at least for much of the fan base. I personally don’t approve the hooker stuff, but it’s not why I don’t want him as our HC.
  15. He will compete for national titles somewhere. We will regret not hiring him when we had the chance. As far as the “illegal activities”, virtually all of us have done something that could’ve easily landed us in prison, and the other candidates out there definitely have their blemishes. Let’s not be self-righteous or act like he’s anymore tainted than Freeze or Kiffin.
