Just posted this in Phat’s thread, but I’ll post it here too. Phillips looked good in the first half of their game against Andalusia last night, he made some plays that showed why we want him at Auburn. However, he never gets to leave the field. He had to play QB the entire second half, and ran nothing but wildcat right and left because their starter got hurt at the beginning of the third qtr. He took a beating and got tired. He showed a lot of heart and is physically gifted, he’ll look good in orange and blue next year.

And that was against Auburn commit Joseph Phillips. But to be fair, Philips never left the field the entire game. He had to run the wildcat as QB the whole second half because their starting QB got hurt at the start of the third qtr. He did look good early in the game before getting tired

This is believable; I saw him play in person against Andalusia, and he didn’t look impressive at all. He puts up good stats in their region because the competition is weak overall, but against good teams he disappears.

This isn’t a knock on the guy, he’s a great talent and I hope we get him, but he’s playing against the weakest competition in Alabama so those stats are a little misleading

Cadillac was out watching Phat last night in Geneva; it was Phat’s first game back after a minor knee injury. He had 5 or 6 touches with 2 tds

I think what happened the first half of this past season was a complete crash and burn, couldn’t imagine it getting any worse before he was asked to leave.
