Historically, AU has recruited the AL HS's north of the TN river poorly in basketball and football. Maybe the coaches don't realize there are actually bridges OVER the water and you don't have to swim across?

Agreed. Lord knows we heard enough this year about a Bama player (Sears) who could've easily been in O&B had our coaches just offered him. I don't want to hear the lamenting and whining IF Holloway were to go there and show out in crimson. 😭
If Holloway were to go there and show out in crimson, the lamenting and whining would be completely justified

Prior to the beginning of last season, CHF was quoted as saying that JH was the best running back he had ever had on a team. Certainly didn’t see that backed-up in game performance last season.
Don’t see it. JH is slow out of the blocks. Fast once in the open but that doesn’t happen much unless you’re playing Vandy. Cobb looks to be very versatile and it would be real bad to lose him.

AU specializes in hiring endearing coaches who make the fanbase feel good. I’ll leave it at that.

A lot better poise, a lot better plan, a lot better shooters and face it, a lot better coach overall in Oates. As much of a jerk as he is, he has the winning formula. High energy, disruptive play with great scorers on the roster. They won’t beat UConn but this run has made a statement.

Longer than that. I made a comment early on in the season about how I started noticing a pattern around CBM's behavior and got blasted on here for it. It's been a season building behavior for him.
CBM is a provocateur and prompted several F1s from other players over the season. The Yale guy gave him a dose of his medicine with cheapy and CBM couldn’t handle it. Got caught retaliating. I love his intensity but he needs to grow up.

Aden regressing during the season had a major unexpected impact of how the offense was supposed to work. He was supposed to be an 5* elite shooter - otherwise he’s just another AU undersized guard.
The kid was already a build project physically. Now he’s a total rebuild mentally.

Sigh. I was hoping we wouldn’t fall victim to the “disciplined” type of team but we’re playing right into their game plan so far

Freeze is installing the Whirly-Fairweather and doesn’t want other coaches to see it.

Denver getting 2 rotations at PG last night shows (I feel) that BP thinks like he needs to get someone else ready there for the March tournament. Auburn switches a lot on defense, so it's unavoidable that Aden will get matched up (even by design of the other team) against stronger players, as was on display in that one play last night. A problem for all undersized guards. But, you trade that off when your 5* undersized guard makes up for it in other areas. This is the current problem though, as Aden is also getting bullied on offense. (1) He is getting ball pressure and not getting the team into the offense early enough, running too late into the shot clock. (2) He's not shooting well in SEC play. (3) He has not been effective attacking, driving with the ball. However, he was not a 5* rated player for no reason. The kid has the skillz. He's quick, with great handle, and CAN shoot. Up to last night, I felt that BP was sticking with him and willing to let him try to work through it and shoot his way out of a slump. Now, I'm not so sure with Denver getting trial minutes at PG. I'm afraid the toughness of SEC conference basketball is proving too much for him at this stage (as a freshman). Or it could be a confidence issue and that he just needs his mojo back, Austin Powers style. But, I'm thinking he will not be a major contributor this year moving forward.
Spot on. Bruce has done all he can do to get AH minutes and opportunities but in the best interest of THIS year's team, you gotta get more size in the PG rotation.

Look for 2 highly recruited defensive players at Bama from the class of 2023 to hit the portal in April. AU heavily recruited both.
I hope they do and I hope we get em

I don't understand this. Aden will be great but was clearly overmatched physically in this game. Tre should've gotten 8+ more minutes

I'm starting to think I may have been wrong about the ceiling of this team after tonight.
Sadly, our win streak was based on surprisingly subpar comp. Our first chance to man up tonight was a fail. UT, UK, USCe and Bama again await

Pro scouts get paid a lot of money to see through these situations and make the right calls. Bo is a phenomenal talent who was grossly mismanaged during his time at AU. I think he's going to be great in the League.
