This was the first time in 21 years that Auburn didn't have a player selected in the first 4 rounds of the NFL Draft. 😥
Nehemiah Pritchett is the only player we've had selected so far. He went in the 5th round today. We've got 5 total players that are projected to be drafted and they're all on the defensive side of the ball.
Somebody mentioned this recently but our last 3 head coaches have all been "offensive guru's" but we always struggle on the offensive side of the ball and our players that get drafted seem to mostly be defensive and special teams players.
Weird huh?
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry about this.

Does it really matter in this era of college athletics?
You are what you can pay. We can buy middle of the pack in football and maybe slightly better in basketball. There's always been some element of this, but I feel like the ceilings are fixed, now.
I was in Auburn the past few days and it's a different town. The pickups are now Landrovers. The pizza joints and college dives are now high end restaurants and lounges. The small town charm is now stuffed with condos, the tailgates are purchased at top dollar and so are the seats to games. We aren't mediocre, we're just a defined product, now. Being a fan at any level for a college team is going to be more difficult for everyone without letting go of a lot of how we're used to perceiving the game. That's just the way it is.
I agree with all of this post, except the sentence that we aren’t mediocre. We are, sadly, and the people that matter don’t really care. As long as we put our butts in the seats, it will continue to not matter to them

This begs the question, though. Why didn’t he “out” Mullen immediately? Am I missing something here?

Bruce MUST be trying to upgrade the position if all 3 of these guys are going portal.

I am so glad he's gone, that being said, dude is a baller. IMO idk if this Alabama team even makes the tourney without him.
Got away with palming it all year long. Doesn’t make the moves or plays he does without it

Glad to see palming Sears and his high school mom for the last time

Is it really Auburn mediocrity, or is it just Auburn?
Historically Auburn is middle of the pack, it's kinda always been that way.
Correct. Historically, we’re an 8-4 school. Good enough for a lot of people. And that is sad. As an example, Tuberville was here 10 years. His record…. 84-40. Shug here 25 years … 176-83-6 . Dye..99-39-3 in 12 years. All about 8-4 on average

College sports. What a crock it has become. Your favorite player this year may be on your arch rival’s team next year.

Actually a stat was posted somewhere on here saying this years Duke team has had the easiest run ever. Their four games so far have been against #1 seed, #11 seed, #12 seed and #13 seed. And in the win over #1 seed Houston, their star PG Jamal Shead went out in the first half with a bad ankle injury and didn't return which made it alot easier on Duke.
Bama's beaten a #1, #6, #12 and #13. Not a gauntlet at all but not as easy as Duke has faced. If Bama beats UConn (I doubt they will), they'll deserve all the praise as bad as it would suck.
Hate to say it, but don’t be surprised if bama beats UConn. They shoot so many threes it makes up for the twos other teams get. And they have more scorers than any of the other teams left

At this point, who cares about the rest of the teams. My team is out. The only reason to care at this point is if your bracket isn’t totally busted.
If your bracket ain’t busted by now, you were drunk bracketing to begin with!

Conveniently got out just before Texas and Oklahoma got in. Hmmm?

Saban speaks at the Ted Cruz round table on the future of college sports:
That’s rich, coming from the man that effectively started this spiral away from “ college football “ by recruiting kids because he could “create value” for them if they played for him. He had the only minor league NFL team for 12 years, then the playing field was leveled

I've been waiting for Arkansas to have that one game where they put it all together, and look like the top 10 team that they were supposed to be at the beginning of the season. Wouldn't it be great if that were Saturday?
They’re waiting til they get matched up with us in the SEC tournament 😂

It’s been said on this board that Auburn is funded by at least 4 billionaires. It’s time for them to open up their pocket books and get us better players! The coaches can only do so much in the new NIL world that we’re living in.
This is a ridiculous statement.

Sears does that “jerk your head back any time your defender puts a finger on you during a drive” thing - so annoying to play a guy like that lol. Had enough of it with Pip Jr
Wendell Green did the same thing

We will struggle the rest of the schedule. This team is soft

Some of us said this from the start, but caught grief from others who said we were just “old timers” that weren’t progressive. Wonder how they feel about it now?
