Hey remember that time we just barely squeaked by a 12 seed on our way to a final 4 run after winning the sec tournament? Yeah that.

Remember when we won the regular season, had a double bye, and lost our only game in the SEC tourney?

The reality is the 2023 defense defended the 3rd fewest possessions per game (11.6) from 1992-2023, so they were not on the field more often because of the offense. They also defended the 5th fewest plays the last 34 seasons at 63.3 per game. The biggest issue on defense was surrendering too many explosive plays.

Was this due to the offensive or the new rules on continous clock except at the end of the game

  3. I suspect JH returning will be based in part by how much NIL he is offered compared to what he could earn in the NFL.  From AU perspective, it would be great if he returns, but not an imperative.  I believe AU would be better off spending NIL on OL, DL, and DBs, and therefore I expect JH to leave.

Can't believe I forgot 13.   I don't appreciate our band enough.  Their drum major dropped the stick he was trying to twirl not once but twice.   When they lined up, they didn't line up.   Their lines were crooked.   When they played you couldn't hear them.   Three of their hats fell off during their 6 minute halftime show.    With some things, you don't know what you have until you see what others don't have.

LP, I do not disagree with anything you stated.  I do want to state for the record that I am really glad that AU scheduled this home and home series and hope AU does more of these in the future.  This was an awesome trip for me (just like Penn State and Kansas State) as it was an opportunity to visit a different part of the country, experience different cultures, and appreciate AU even more.

  5. Beautiful town and area.  The weather was awesome.  My observation was that AU fans enjoy their adult beverages more that CAL fans both before and during the game.  Which created problems for finding a bathroom before the game and really long lines at the bathroom during the game.  My group had a stadium tour on Thursday during which they described the large stadium remodel a few years back.  It was too expensive to dig into the rock to build bathrooms into the stadium resulting in Porto toilets across the street.  Video is from the club level section view of the city.

The no call on the safety is what got me. I flew up there for the game after coaching friday night. Best atmosphere I've ever been in. Still have no idea why BoBo called that fade.

I also went to the Penn State.  I was really really impressed and had a great time.  Now we were their first big home game of the year and they have very reduced attendance due to COVID in 2020, so the Penn State fans were really pumped and showed out for the game.  I am disappointed that we are not able to show the Penn State fans a night game in Auburn.
