Ballo from Arizona got floated as having that number a couple days ago. Broome is better than him, but I imagine Indiana probably has some better basketball coffers than us. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the figure he was seeking

I saw a lot of Arizona games. I doubt Ballo ever gets to the league, very limited game offensively, can't shoot free throws and not big enough to dominate inside. Arizona had a lot of limited talented guys who had to all play well to win.

The ball handling has been suspect. KD is a human turnover. Holloway just seems to small and non-physical to be in that position and Donaldson is very inconsistent.

What I saw against Yale was a team not used to playing a tight game ahead. We just completely came apart from a fundamentals standpoint. We had little awareness, made sloppy passes, missed open looks, couldn't make free-throws, it's clearly a team that needs a leader and doesn't have it yet.

KD recklessly attacked the basket. Aden and Tre dribbled half the shot clock away. The Houston guards and Sears played downhill, fast and furious the whole game.

The portal is open and the coaches have been in contact with prospects

The teams that are winning have guards constantly on the attack. Our guards, particularly Holloway dripple away 15 seconds of the shot clock and run a desperation play.

Poorly prepared and took Yale as an easy win.

Kentucky showed what could happen and no one paid attention

Full team choke on free throws and bunnies but the refs were horrible. Broome should have fouled out Wolf 15 minutes earlier. we looked at them wrong and a foul was called.

It’s crazy he can’t even finish at the rim more often than not. His defense has been decent but need more than that

That sequence was rough. he stood dribbling at the top of the key until the clock was running down, dribbled into three defenders and turned it over and bricked a three.

I have held my tongue all season, but Baker is a THUG! We've excused his behavior but if he was a rival we would have called him out a long time ago. He deserved that penalty.

Emotional yes, thug no, lighten up Francis.

Alabama got sent to Spokane with us, along with UAB.  5 of the 8 teams in Spokane are from east of the Mississippi River.

I'm OK with bashing on ua at any time, though, so I'm on board with the general disdain of the post.

Part of the problem is there aren't a lot of good teams in the West. Arizona won the PAC 12 and got punked by a mediocre Oregon team in the tourney. Gonzaga is not all that great.

I was thinking the same thing. The way Cardwell and Broome protects the rim will be hard to replace. I can see Cardwell returning. There may be a slight chance Broome returns because he's not listed on any of the draft boards. Maybe he's tired of college and wants to play overseas. I'm sure this staff will reload in the portal. The guard play is set for next season especially with the electric freshman guard coming in.

Chad, Jones and Chaney all have another year, right?

One thing that keeps Tenn as the most steadfast program over this recent stretch of multiple SEC teams going up, then down, then up, is bc they always find guys who fits Barnes’s philosophy. Outside of just Auburn, Kentucky was so disappointing recently bc they didn’t have any system, it was just plug dudes in. Arkansas star chases.

They had a continuous glass ceiling on how good they could be because it’d continue to be these boring very steady players before Knecht came around, but it’s way easier to just add one star onto a foundation than what some of these programs do

The point guards have their moments, Aden seems to be getting his mojo back, but sometimes they seem to stand out by the half court line, dribbling in and out of traps and waste half the shot clock, forcing bad shots. K.D. is a bundle of energy but sometimes he takes puzzling shots.

I think it may be more of a minutes thing.  With JW out, there are minutes available.   Regardless, I think Broome and Cardwell on the floor together is a real positive and gives us some more intriguing possible lineups.

Anybody know why Chris Moore only played 2 minutes? I get he doesn't bring any offense but it was generally he gets 10-15 minutes. Was it injury, mad because he didn't start and pouted? Curious...

No leadership in the backcourt.  Got pushed around. Terrible shooting. No go to guys. No alpha males with possible exception of Broome.  That sums it up

I'd throw in Chad in the alpha dog category.

Without the “good” JW, gonna be very tough.  Guess we will know more by Monday sometime

How about going twin posts with Broome and Cardwell? Play big boy basketball with Chad, Jones and Donaldson.

That is what is consistent about Pearl coached Auburn teams.  Bad shooting. Unless its a home game where they over perform.

Unfortunately, they were probably what they really are tonight.

I don't buy that 31% shooting is the norm. They are one of the top offensive efficiency teams in the country

Are you watching coach? See how the head coaches are involved with their teams. Not just standing there with there hands in their arm pits.

I will give you credit for getting in the officials face about bad/no calls. How bout the team though.

Hugh Freeze the dish rag hangin on the rack.

Harbaugh and L'il Nicky are highly involved in the game.

  16. Watching the Turds and Michigan , AU has a long way to go. The hitting, pursuit, tackling angles are all things we lack. Did you see how the Michigan db scooped up the fumble? It was textbook.

Think about the 2 games this year that this staff had extra time to prepare for; the LSU game coming off a bye week where we lost 48-18 and this bowl game where we had a month and 15 practices to get ready and we find ourselves down 21-0 in the 1st qtr and lose 31-13. Btw, Maryland scored those 31 points in the first 3 quarters. We are worse when we have extra time to prepare.

Go watch Payton Thorne's interview postgame and you will see and hear a dude that was completely checked out on this season before the team ever got to Nashville. He even says that he just wanted this year to be over and all he has looked forward to since signing day was these new recruits coming in for next season.

Thorne may run hard and take big shots from defenders to get an extra yard but he isn't a leader and I don't care that he's a 3 year Captain. He isn't vocal at all and there's a ton of times this season we needed a Michael Jordan, Kobe, Tom Brady type leader to get in these players faces and atleast try to get through to them that this s*** ain't cutting it. But he doesn't do it. If you ain't gonna be a vocal leader, you better be leading by example and your play. In my opinion he has done neither. Dude let an 18 year old Hank Brown step onto the field for the first time ever in college and he showed up Thorne in just 2 series. The team seemed to have a spark when Hank came in as well.

One other thing, the commentators for this game mentioned on 3 different occasions that Freeze said Payton Thorne will be the starter next year. Freeze also seemed to hint very strongly at that on his ESD presser. Then in postgame this evening he said the QB competition will be open in spring. It sounds like he may be waffling on QB1 for next season but who knows? If I'm guessing, I think Freeze knows he is going with Thorne as QB1. Lord help us all.

Mentioned it earlier, Thorne plays flat and passionless and demonstrates zero leadership qualities. This guy can't be qb1.
