Then why were we 7 point favorites and why did many sportscasters pick us to win the game?
Was Georgia 60 point favorites against FSU? Those are betting odds, not necessarily who's going to win the game.

Freeze states the obvious and we're supposed to respect him more for it, I guess...
As boring and as played out as it sounds, Gus did the same exact thing and he lasted 8 seasons. Freeze knows what he's doing. The last thing he's going to do is throw the players under the bus. No amount of preparation was going to win you today's game with Payton Thorne as your QB.

Why is PT still in the game?
He needs to build an ounce of momentum going into next season.

It’s year 1, with real talent issues. Let’s give it some time.
This is CHF 11th season coaching and he averages 4 losses a season.

By all accounts he’s a pretty decent guy.
His QB play is suspect, but don’t let that stop you from drunk posting. If the water boy enters the transfer portal, I'd try out Payton there because he fits that description nicely.

Payton Thorne is so garbage😂. Why people on here still believe in him is mind-blowing.
That's an insult to garbage.

Game plans go out the window when PT is your QB,

Well u also have to factor that it’s hard to beat a team twice in a season. Liberty has already beat them once
Liberty did the double. From a 5-loss season a year ago with CHF as their head coach to undefeated and ranked. Go figure...

It was a bad loss no doubt, but don’t believe we should be jumping off any cliffs.
If this loss doesn't make you jump off a cliff, how about Liberty going from 8-4 in CHF's last season to 11-0 and ranked? Oh, and yeah, they beat New Mexico State soundly.

Completely agree and was thinking the same.
ALSO, we could have easily put our offense in a better position to succeed.
Maybe Thorne should try his luck at Oregon.

Offensive line is offensive. That’s our problem
Ole Miss could rush one and Thorne would still find a way to get sacked for a loss.

What people are looking for late in a game that's out of reach is no quit, that is quit. Sorry if people view it another way but that's not how I was brought up to play ball
I don't even know why he was still in the game at that point.

Running out of bounds on a 4th and long play, two yards short of a first because he wanted to avoid a tackler pretty much sums up his existence.

Who wants to bet that Montgomery will not be the play caller the rest of the season?
If Thorne is QB, it doesn't matter who is calling the plays.

The big 10 is not the SEC not even close. And on top of that, he had a lot of talent around him that hid his lack of talent.
That's just plain arrogance and SEC bias. Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan would whip any team not named Georgia.

Yeah they are different and our head coach acts as stubborn as Gus did. I don’t know what Hugh sees or thinks, but Thorne continues to regress and the moment still is way too big for him. He really should not even play one more snap on this team. He doesn’t have it.
The moment is not to big for him. He's played in the big 10 and played in many big moments.

WTH is wrong with our play calling and subs? Whoever is making these decisions needs to go home. Big interception and no deep shot. Instead, they opened the last drive with a deep shot which made no sense to call at the time. Now they’re switching QBs after one gets momentum. Robby had it rolling a little bit. It’s like they’re intentionally sabotaging our offense with terrible ideas and decisions. Good grief. I can do that for far less pay.
If you have a simple QB, you need a simple playback. Quick solution... get the Thorne out of the game. He's a disaster.

About the same as QB recruiting.

I disagree. The TV replays have clearly shown open WRs, but Thorne is not used to SEC speed and he hesitates every time, then panics when he sees the rush. Ashford simply can't throw. Nothing new there.
Believe it or not, they have speed in the big 10 too. Thorne can't complete an accurate pass beyond 10 yards to save his life.

Bo’s long ball was EXTREMELY sporadic. That dude overthrew and underthrew a lot of guys.
He was lights out against woeful teams like Samford. Stidham could also throw some dimes.

Tbh I’ve been fairly impressed with Thorne’s long ball. It’s been a long long time since we had a QB with long ball touch like this.
Bo Nix actually hasn't been that long ago.

The QBs, switching QBs,,, not the problem Saturday.
Fumbles, penalties, atrocious "blocking", poor scheme, poor play calling were the major problems. The offense was not prepared, not even close.
I don't think play calling was the issue. Play calling reflects heavily on the personnel. If you want better, more dynamic play calling, get better players.

Smash and grab. Didn't deserve to win but I'll take it.

Thorne should never see the field, he's a disaster.
Once again Freeze says he had team unprepared.

OSU was favored against Mizzou by 5 and lost by 11. Favorites don't always win. Maybe the oddsmakers had Alabama fever.
