So, Hugh turned the offensive game prep over to Montgomery while he (Hugh) focused on recruiting, & then after the game Hugh says the game plan wasn't good
I thought the same thing, maybe he thought it wasn't good after the game. Maybe a cold shower pre game should have been called for. They dang sure didn't come to win the game. I'm not sure if it was the "flu" or the squirts that they most all appeared to be recovering from. Even so the D played decent after the 1st Q. The O never got going till it was pretty much over.

they were playing more prevent but he didn't stare a single receiver all the way, more like he could see the whole field as a scan and spot the open receivers

Yep, most of the kids where I lived in Thomson Ga in the early 60's were Yankee's fans.

Would have been nice if they had told 2 of the DB's to man the corners of the end zone. Oh well no muffed punt and its over. don't put anybody back to receive or tell him to get away from it. It wouldn't have been worse than the 20 to 25 probably.
-
I jinxed them on that punt, I kept saying don't muff it don't muff it.
-
I guess I missed something , why was Koy Moore returning that punt and not Keonte Scott?

Could you take a few seconds to cast your vote for my son, Brian Battie, #21 Running Back, he is new to the team and he is the only Auburn Tiger in the running for this award. Your support to help him get to #1 would be greatly appreciated.

Auburn Code of Student Conduct violation http://conduct.auburn.edu/
9. Conduct that is disorderly, lewd, or indecent; breach of peace; or aiding, abetting, or procuring another person to breach the peace. (This regulation does not prohibit peaceful assembly and protest.)
With a process following a suspension.
that was the closest thing I saw that was related.

I was there sitting on the wrong side. Bama was wearing Auburn out but Auburn had no quit in them. I've posted this here before. On the second punt I turned to my bama friend and said "watch them do it again" the words were hardly out of my mouth and it looked like an instant replay. Half that stadium got mighty quiet.

After his playing days were over, Oliver was coaching high school football in Etowah County. Coach Jordan hired him to coach DB's at Auburn and that gave Oliver his first opportunity to coach college football. After Shug retired I lost track of Brother Oliver until he showed up as DC at Tuskaloser some years later.
He had a good football mind.
all that was fine from 1966 till 1970. I n 1970 bear hired Oliver back to bama as their DB coach , the results of the 1971 iron bowl can be seen in the 31-7 score. Oliver knew Auburns offense inside and out. They smothered Sullivan and the Auburn offense.

I was there sitting on the wrong side, it got mighty quiet. on the second block I had just turned to my bama buddy and said watch them do it again, the words had hardly left my mouth when it happened. I was dissing Shug for kicking a FG earlier but real happy that he did.

What sucks?
Chest wounds?
losing to the leg humpers. do you understand? I should have reposted what sucked to me so the context would be correct. This was about the first game you ever saw Auburn play in person.
"1962 Auburn vs Georgia at Auburn. Lost 21-30. I remember a sophomore Ivan Charles (Tucker) Fredrickson played safety and full back. He muffed a punt deep in Auburn territory and Georgia got a score out of it. Georgia burned Auburn for a long td pass and it was all over. I was fit to be tied.
